Abstract: A fastener clip assembly including a first wing and a second wing opposite the first wing. The first wing and the second wing are configured to couple the fastener clip assembly to a slot in a first component based at least on the first wing and the second wing being configured to generate a force against the slot in the first component. The fastener clip assembly also includes a screw and two or more platforms between the first wing and the second wing. The platforms include corresponding threads, with each of the threads being configured to receive the screw. The first wing and the second wing are configured to increase the force based at least on the screw being configured to push apart the first wing and the second wing based at least on the screw being configured to be threaded into the threads of the platforms.

Abstract: A hybrid plastic carrier and metal fastener clip includes a base plate; a pair of legs extending from the base plate; a locking tab formed on the leg; at least one wing extending from the leg comprising: an engagement region on the wing; and snap knuckles. The legs bend away from each other to form a head portion and a lead in section. A locking tab is formed on the second leg. A pair of opposing wing tips at ends of the first and second wings are operable to engage a chassis slot. A plastic carrier has an opening for inserting the base plate. A pair of opposing carrier walls formed on a top end of the carrier bend as the opposing locking tabs slide past the carrier walls; and a pair of opposing locking slots to engage the opposing locking tabs.

Abstract: A detachable multi-stage automotive fastener clip attaches a body panel to a chassis slot. The fastener clip includes a U-shaped upper clip having at least two wings laterally spaced apart. The wings include: a wing tip, a bent wing, an inclined plane. A flex point is formed on a lower wing portion operative to engage and detach with the chassis slot. A U-shaped lower clip removably attaches to the U-shaped upper clip. At least two walls are laterally spaced apart at an open wall end. A ramp, a shoulder and a retaining ledge are formed on the at least two walls away from the open wall end operative to engage the inclined plane. A base at a closed end opposite the open wall end is formed such that the base is formed between a lower wall portion from each of the at least two walls forming a U shape.

Abstract: A system and method including a first leg and a second leg opposite the first leg. The first leg includes a first top portion and a first bottom portion and the second leg includes a second top portion and a second bottom portion. Also included is a a first wing extending from the first leg and a second wing extending from the second leg. In addition, two or more platforms are included coupling the first leg and the second leg near the first bottom portion and near the second bottom portion. At least two of the two or more platforms include a thread, and each of the threads is configured to receive a screw.

Abstract: A system and method including a fastener clip including a top portion and a bottom portion. The bottom portion includes a platform, a pair of locking arms and a pair of feet. The pair of locking arms is coupled to the platform via a pair of hinges. The pair of feet is coupled to the locking arms and is being configured to rotate with the locking arms. The feet are configured to be partially inserted into a slot in a doghouse and, based at least on the locking arms being rotated, the feet are configured to rotate into the slot in the doghouse and to couple the bottom portion to the doghouse. The locking arms are configured to be coupled to the platform at the end of the rotation.

The fastener clip is configured to be inserted into and to attach to a slot in a chassis. The wings include ledges. The fastener clip is configured to attach to the slot based at least upon the ledges being configured to engage the slot. The threads form a barrel configured to receive a screw. The fastener clip is configured to couple a component to the chassis based at least upon the screw being configured to be coupled to the component and to be screwed into the threads.

Abstract: A system and method including a fastener clip, including inserting a fastener clip inside an injection mold cavity to use as part of the injection mold cavity. The fastener clip is inserted into the injection mold cavity where a blade is to be formed on a plastic component. The fastener clip is configured to engage and couple to the blade and to the plastic component and to engage and couple to a slot in a structure. Also included is injecting flowing plastic into the fastener clip and the injection mold to form the lade. At least a portion of a contour of a surface of the blade follows a contour of an inner surface of the fastener clip.

Abstract: A fastener clip engages a slot in a chassis. The fastener clip comprises a pair of sides joined at a head portion. At least two projections are configured to engage a slot in a chassis and to secure the fastener clip to the chassis. The projections are attached to a head portion along the top portion of each of the projections on opposite sides of the clip. The projections are also attached to the foot portion along the width of the bottom portion of each projection, on opposite sides of the clip, such that the projection is affixed to the side. The bottom portion has a width more than the width of the top portion on the at least two projections. A bend along the width of the bottom portions of the projections engage the chassis to secure the clip to the slot in an engaged position.

The cap-pin assembly is configured to couple a panel to a slot in a chassis based at least upon the cap-pin assembly being configured to attach to the slot in the chassis and to the panel. The cap is configured to expand around the chassis slot based at least upon the pin being configured to push the tabs outward in response to the pin being pushed up passed the tabs.

Abstract: A magnetic latch for a lid and the bin of a container in a vehicle comprises at least one overmolded magnet detachably connected to a lid. A metal portion is magnetically attracted with the overmolded magnet. At least one overmolded magnet is connected to a bin having a magnetic attraction with the lid overmolded magnet to magnetically open and close the lid and the bin of the container. The overmold on the magnet encloses the magnet with vibration dampening material such as rubber. The metal portion may be a second at least one overmolded magnet second. The container may be a center console, glove box, ash tray, trunk, sun roof shade, cover. Spears, clips, prongs other suitable fasteners may be formed on one side of the overmold to allow insertion and attachment to a corresponding hole on the lid.

The at least two wings are attached to the tub along a top portion of each of the wings on opposite sides of the tub. Bottom portions of the wings engage the chassis, securing the tub to the slot. The tub comprises at least two hooks on opposite sides of the tub and located laterally to the wings. The wings are configured to bend in response to the tub being inserted into a rib. The rib has tabs with outside edges to engage the hooks. Each of the tabs on the rib may be tapered to form tapered tabs. At the end of each tab, a retention notch engages the hook on the tub.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a fastener comprises a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side is connected to the second side thereby forming a U-shaped structure. The fastener further comprises a bottom portion wherein the first side and the second side are connected, and a top portion opposite the bottom portion. The first side comprises a first engagement spring. The first engagement spring is connected to the first side in the vicinity of the bottom portion. The engagement springs have inward facing gussets connected to the bottom portion. The second side comprises a second engagement spring. The second engagement spring is connected to the second side in the vicinity of the bottom portion. A cavity is formed between the first side and the second side as will be described below. The engagement springs include an engagement region operable to adapt to variations or movement of a slot.
