  • Patent number: 5421170
Abstract: An arrangement pertaining to refrigerator and freezer gondolas of the kind used to exhibit merchandise in self-service retail stores and being upwardly open in order to expose refrigerated and frozen merchandise. The invention has an upper glass plate located above the opening of the gondola. The size and positioning of the glass plate is such as to generally cover the gondola opening, seen in vertical projection. The surface of the glass plate facing towards the gondola opening is provided with an infrared reflecting layer having an emissivity number below 0.2, preferably below 0.1.

  • Patent number: 5345678
Abstract: A method of assembling window and glass-door casements. The casements are a rectangular frame with four profiled U-shaped and mitered channel sections joined at the corners by flat right angled fasteners. The sections have a slot shaped cavity along and in the bottom channel wall. The flat corner fasteners have two legs, each with a cross-section corresponding to the slot. The inner edges of both legs are notched and the legs of a fastener are inserted into the open ends of the slots at the ends of adjacent sections, and the sections then moved into abutment with one another over the fastener legs. The frame is placed into a press tool which includes, (preferably for each frame corner), a fixed part with two sides at right angles, and a movable part also with two sides at right angles. The latter sides have projections that correlate to the notches in the fastener legs. The movable part of the tool can be moved towards and away from the associated fixed part.

  • Patent number: 5329736
Abstract: A door structure, for use in combination with upright refrigerator and freezer spaces, which utilizes heat transfer by forced convection, of the kind used in everyday commodity stores to display goods on sale. The door has two glass panes which together with a frame embracing the edges of the glass panes, either completely or partially, form a door leaf. The glass pane which faces towards the warm atmosphere of a shop area is provided on the surface thereof facing away from the shop area with an electrically conductive coating, which is operative to heat the outer pane electrically. The door has solely two mutually parallel glass panes, of which the glass pane facing towards the colder refrigerator or freezer space is provided on the surface thereof which faces towards the colder space solely with an infrared radiation reflective coating or layer.

  • Patent number: 5107655
Abstract: A door-leaf profiled section for glass doors and windows, and particularly for glass doors of the kind used between a room a refrigerator or freezer space, the profiled section preferably being made of aluminum and being intended to embrace the edges of a double or triple glazing assembly, and including a substantially U-shaped channel in which the glazing assembly is intended to be inserted and there glued. The invention is characterized in that the U-shaped channel (4), seen in cross section, includes at least three abutment surfaces (7, 8, 9) intended for abutment with a glazing assembly (2) inserted into the channel, such that one side (10) of the glazing assembly (2) will abut one of the abutment surfaces (7), and such that the opposing side (11) of the assembly will abut two of the abutment surfaces (8, 9), these latter abutment surfaces (8, 9) being spaced from one another.
