Abstract: The present invention relates to a light accumulating and luminous material characterized by the general formula M1-x-yn(Al2-zGaz)O4:xE+2,yRE wherein M is at least one alkaline earth metal; RE is at least one rare earth metal, and Al(OH)3, Ga2O3, and Eu2O3 are also feed materials. In the formula, n ranges from 0.5 to 7; x ranges from 0.001 to 0.1; y ranges from 0.001 to 0.1; and z ranges from 0.005 to 0.05. It also relates to a process to manufacture the light accumulating and luminous material.
