Abstract: A dose display mechanism for a drug delivery device is disclosed. The display mechanism has an elongated dose setting dial with both an external helical thread and external linear grooves extending from one end to the other end. A counter ring is mounted surrounding the setting dial. The counter ring has ribs on its inner surface which engage the grooves and permit the counter ring to move axially along the setting dial but prevent it from rotating relative to the setting dial. Indicia, in the form of digits, are arranged helically on the outer surface of the dose setting dial. The digits are spaced at a pitch which corresponds to the pitch of the external helical threads.

Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer includes a piezoelectric member consisting of either a unpolarized piezoelectric polymer material or the like, or an in-advance polarized piezoelectric polymer material or the like, a first flexible substrate on which a first electrode set and their connecting leads are formed, these being bonded to one surface of the piezoelectric member, and a second flexible substrate on which a second electrode and its connecting lead are formed, these being bonded to the other surface of the piezoelectric member, wherein the piezoelectric member is sandwiched between the first electrode set and second electrode. The electrodes can apply a voltage to polarize the unpolarized piezoelectric polymer material in a manufacturing process of the piezoelectric member, or apply a drive voltage to the finished ultrasonic transducer. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the ultrasonic transducer.

Abstract: An electronic clinical thermometer capable of executing plural temperature prediction functions in which elapsed measurement time is a variable, each function prescribing a temperature change up to a final, stable temperature. One of the temperature prediction functions is set, and actual body temperature is sensed at a specific point in time. Then, based on the sensed temperature and selected function, a final temperature is obtained at least twice in accordance with a time series and the temperatures are compared to obtain a difference between them. When the difference falls outside prescribed limits, a new temperature prediction function is selected, a final temperature is obtained based thereon, and the foregoing process is repeated until a difference is found which lies within the prescribed limits. The final temperature obtained at such time is delivered as an output indicative of measured temperature.
Abstract: A package obtained by superposing a sheetlike lid through the medium of a hot melt layer, on a tray provided along the edge of a recess therein with a sheetlike flange part, and then heat sealing the tray and the sheetlike lid at the sheetlike flange part. The heat sealed portion formed between the sheetlike flange part of the tray and the sheetlike lid includes at least one primary joined portion having one of the sheetlike parts strongly pressed down and partially buried in the other sheetlike part, and at least one secondary joined portion adjacent said primary joined portion having said sheetlike parts pressed down less strongly against each other than in the primary joined portion. The secondary portion is at least on the inner side of the primary joined portion toward the tray recess, relative to the direction of the cross section of the heat sealed portion, thus serving to provide protection for the primary joined portion.
Abstract: Polyvinyl chloride series resin compositions comprising 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride series resin, 20 to 80 parts by weight of a plasticizer and 0.2 to 7 parts by weight of silicone oil, which minimize the elution of the plasticizer, and a method of manufacturing polyvinyl chloride series resin compositions which is characterized by emulsifying said silicone oil in advance with part of said plasticizer and adding an emulsion thus formed to said resin compositions.
