  • Patent number: 6141926
Abstract: A light weight panel for use in modular and free standing office landscaping systems. The panels form free standing partitions which can be rearranged and assembled into space divider or partition systems. Panels can be interconnected and positioned in a variety of ways relative to adjacent panels via posts and/or special connectors. The panels are constructed with perimeter frame members along each edge, the perimeter frame members being inter-connected with the vertical frame members by corner connectors. The corner connectors have protrusions which engage hollow cavities in the ends of the frame members. The perimeter frame members incorporate formations to secure panel fabric and trim as desired. An inter-panel connection system cooperates with the corner connectors to provide an easy to assemble but rigid partition system.

  • Patent number: 5737893
Abstract: A light weight, upholstered panel for use in modular and free standing office landscaping systems. The panels form free standing partitions which can be rearranged and assembled into an office system. Panels can be interconnected and positioned over a range of angles relative to adjacent panels. The panel core is composed of a light weight composite structural material with perimeter frame members along each edge. Each frame member has the same cross-section along its length. The horizontal perimeter horizontal frame members are inter-connected with the vertical frame members by corner connectors. The corner connectors have protrusions which engage hollow cavities in the ends of the frame members. The perimeter frame acts to transfer loads imposed on the panel to the structural core. The perimeter frame members incorporate formations to secure the panel fabric, trim and the inter-panel connection system in place and provide recesses for fasteners and support hardware.

  • Patent number: 4886326
Abstract: An interlock secures adjacent panels of ready to assemble furniture in a selected angular relationship and includes a rigid elongated core member including at least a pair of elongated faces thereon disposed in a predetermined angular relationship (usually at right angles) to one another. A plurality of connecting bolts are fixed to the core member and projecting outwardly from each of the elongated faces in predetermined spaced relation to each other along said faces. These connecting bolts are adapted to enter into corresponding bores in the end faces of the panels which are thus secured to the interlock. These connecting bolts each have means thereon for engaging with suitable locking elements, such as cam locks, disposed in the respective bores in the panels whereby the connecting bolts are securely held in the bores with the elongated faces of the core member is close abutting relation to the respectively associated end faces of the panels.
