Patent number: 7337657Abstract: A pressure glow plug for a diesel engine has a glow plug body 2 for being inserted into a cylinder of the diesel engine, a heating rod 1 that is arranged in the glow plug body 2 and a pressure sensor 9 that is arranged between the heating rod 1 and the glow plug body 2 in such a way that the pressure in the combustion chamber of the cylinder that is transmitted by the heating rod 1 influences the pressure sensor 9. The heating rod 1 is arranged in the glow plug body 2 such that it can be displaced in an axially sliding fashion, namely by a corresponding sliding element, for example, a membrane 7 or seals 3.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2004Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignees: Beru AG, Texas Instruments Holland B.V.Inventors: Michael Haussner, Ulf Wyrwich, Hans Houben, Frank Pechhold, Heinz-Georg Schmitz, Dirk Von Hacht, Marc Gerard Johan Borgers, Albert Ferdinand Zwijze, Paulus Thomas Johannes Gennissen, Ronald De Groot, Arie-Jan Koelling

Patent number: 7228730Abstract: A pressure-measuring glow plug for a diesel engine with a plug body (3, 4) for insertion into a cylinder of the diesel engine, a heating rod (1) which is arranged in the plug body (3, 4), and a pressure sensor, which is arranged under an initial tension between the heating rod (1) and the plug body (3, 4), in such a way that the pressure sensor (7) is acted upon by the pressure prevailing in the combustion chamber of the cylinder. The heating rod (1) transmits the pressure in the combustion chamber of the cylinder to the pressure sensor (7) and is arranged so as to be displaceable in a sliding manner in the axial direction relative to the plug body (3, 4). A seal in the form of a bellows-shaped component (2) is provided between the heating rod (1) and the plug body (3, 4).Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2005Date of Patent: June 12, 2007Assignees: Beru AG, Texas Instruments Holland B.V.Inventors: Michael Haussner, Hans Houben, Frank Pechhold, Friedrich Mayr, Ulf Wyrwich

Patent number: 5694906Abstract: A fuel injection system for a combustion engine having an injection valve with a fuel vaporizer into whose inlet orifice fuel can be injected from the injection valve and out of whose outlet orifice a fuel stream is discharged, and having an air supply system that supplies air to the fuel vaporizer for mixing with the fuel stream. To improve the fuel delivery from the fuel vaporizer, the air supply system has an air blow-out device mounted in the area of the outlet orifice of the fuel vaporizer through which the air to be added to the fuel stream is supplied to the fuel stream discharged from the fuel vaporizer.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1996Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Assignees: Robert Bosch GmbH, Texas Instruments Holland, B.V., Ulev GmbHInventors: Jorg Lange, Herbert Gladigow

Patent number: 5453747Abstract: A method of communicating between an interrogator (10) and at least a first and second transponder (12). The transponders (12)are separately located within a first and a second vehicle (20) travelling within a first and a second traffic lane, respectively. The method has the steps of providing a first and a second LF antenna (16) associated with and proximity to a first and a second traffic lane, respectively. From each of the first and second LF antennas (16) a continuous LF subcarrier is transmitted to serve as a clock signal for each antenna's associated transponder (12). Initially, a wake-up signal is sent by each of the LF antennas (16) to its associated transponder (12). Following the wake-up signal, a unique lane code is sent by each of the LF antennas (16) to its associated transponder (12). The transponder (12) stores its unique lane code in its memory (70).Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1994Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignees: Texas Instruments Deutschland GmbH, Texas Instruments Holland B.V.Inventors: Loek D'Hont, Anne Tip, Herbert Meier
