Abstract: The invention relates to a fibrous structure comprising at least one mat of discontinuous thermoplastic fibers partially bound together, wherein said fibers can be dyed and are transferred to one or more backup fabric structures so as to create a resistant binding between the layers while maintaining a continuous felt-like surface appearance of the assembly thus obtained. This structure can produce in a continuous manner. Upon the application of appropriate pressure and temperature, the structure provides composite materials that do not require any additional surface-finishing process.
