  • Publication number: 20140063310
Abstract: A sensor (1) serves for capturing the moving material web (2). It has light sources (4, 4?) and at least one light detector (10). The light sources (4, 4?) generate emission light (5) having different polarization. The polarization state of the emitted light can be influenced by selecting or mixing the emission light (5) of the light sources (4, 4?). Markings such as for example metal strips (13) in the material web (2) can thus be captured with the light detector (10) without problem.

  • Patent number: 8156802
Abstract: The invention relates to a force sensor for measuring a bearing force of a roller deviating a web of material. The force sensor includes a base element on which at least one sensor element is supported. The sensor element has at least one plate which can be elastically deformed by the bearing force and is provided with at least one force transducer. The sensor element is loaded by a pressure piece into which the bearing force is introduced by means of a spring. The spring has a larger range of spring—in the direction of the force—than the elastically deformable plate for the same load. In order to limit the action of the force on the sensor element, an annular abutment is provided, against which the pressure piece can be pressed flat. The abutment is provided around the sensor element.

  • Patent number: 7952625
Abstract: A calibration element (1) serves for calibrating the magnification ratio of a camera (3). The calibration element (1) has at least one calibration region (4) in which at least one perforation (5) or indentation is provided. The perforation (5) or indentation can be detected by the camera. The calibration element (1) is sufficiently slight in the calibration region (4) that the detection of an upper edge or lower edge of the perforation (5) or indentation produces only negligible differences. In order to determine the dependence of the magnification ratio on the thickness, the calibration element (1) additionally has at least one support foot (8), whose length (9) is selected in such a way as thereby to produce a variation in the measured magnification ratio of the camera image that can be evaluated.

  • Patent number: 7918372
Abstract: The present disclosure relates an apparatus for controlling the lateral offset of webs of material. The apparatus can include a support structure for supporting a roll and a mechanism for lifting the web of material off the roll. The support structure can include a fixed portion and at least one movable portion. The roll is preferably journaled to first mountings, the first mountings being attached to the movable portion of the support structure, so that the roll can be moved together with the first mountings. A potential advantage of this design is that the journal bearing of the roll on a respective shaft can be configured more easily and given smaller dimensions. According to a further aspect of the disclosure, the lifting mechanism can include at least two single rollers, rotatably journaled to two lateral supports. Such single rollers are advantageously arranged along a circular-arc plane. The web of material can thus be deflected with as large a radius as possible.

  • Patent number: 7895907
Abstract: In a method for measuring the tensile stress of a running web, force sensors (7) are connected in the form of a Wheatstone bridge (11). An amplifier (18) amplifies a diagonal voltage (17) of the Wheatstone bridge (11). In order to be able to detect whether at least one of the force sensors (7) is defective, the Wheatstone bridge (11) can be loaded using at least one resistor (26) by means of at least one switch (24, 25). Comparing the measured values, with loading, with the measured values, without loading, determines whether the force sensors (7) of the Wheatstone bridge (11) are functional. Otherwise, an active error signal (28) is output.
