  • Patent number: 5606999
Abstract: A shuttle spool and a method for its producing, the spool being for a shuttle in a weaving machine wherein the yarn (thread) is wound onto a pirn which is rotated by rotational devices during the winding. A yarn-trapping device is provided at one end of the pirn, and the pirn with the yarn-trapping device is positioned in the rotational devices. The yarn on the pirn is being wound to form the spool, and after the winding-on of the yarn has been completed, an emerging yarn part is brought into cooperation with the yarn-trapping device for fixing the emerging yarn part.

  • Patent number: 5549140
Abstract: A device controls warp thread tension in a weaving machine, which the warp thread tension being dependent upon rotation of a plurality of beams forming part of the weaving machine and included in a back rest system for the warp threads, wherein the plurality of beams are pressed against each other and the warp threads run between the beams. At least one beam of the plurality of beams is suspended in a positionally mobile manner and at least one force detection mechanism is provided for detecting at least one force resulting from the wrap thread tension exerted on the beam and for generating at least one control signal. The at least one control signal controls an activation system for providing the thread tension control by affecting the rotations of the beams in both their rotational directions adjusting the feed of the warp threads continuously or by close-intervalled step-by-step changes in forward and backwards directions.

  • Patent number: 5522434
Abstract: An apparatus and method for actuating a drive member in a weaving machine comprises a drive unit, connected to a power supply network, for controllably rotating the drive member. The drive unit includes a direct-current operated unit selectively operable both as a direct-current motor and as a direct-current generator. A control unit is provided for generating and supplying to the drive unit at least one control signal for substantially continuously controlling the angular velocity of the drive member in each of its revolutions. According to the present method the control signal further selectively controls the drive unit to operate in first modes where the drive unit operates as a direct-current motor and in second modes where the drive unit operates as a direct-current generator.

  • Patent number: 5381835
Abstract: A weaving machine for weaving fabric, felts and wires of different widths, comprises a warp thread magazine, first members for feeding warp threads into the weaving machine, and second members for executing the weaving functions in the weaving machine. The warp thread magazine includes a number of warp thread-bearing bobbins which are mounted individually alongside one another and individually selectable so as to form warp thread widths which correspond essentially to the widths of the various fabrics which can be woven in the weaving machine. The first members for feeding the warp threads include feed-in rollers each made up of individually rotatable sections which are arranged alongside one another and cooperate with associated warp thread-bearing bobbins, wherein the feeding-in of the warp threads from selected bobbins can be effected by rotating those sections of the feed-in rollers which cooperate with the selected bobbins.
