  • Patent number: 6899043
Abstract: A method and a device (09) for cutting and folding a fabric section (34) from a continuous material sheeting (01) for producing multilayer casings, in particular pillowcases, having a first gripper (25) that secures and pulls off the front edge (31) of the material sheeting (01) by a first partial amount. A second gripper (26) secures the material sheeting (01) behind the front edge (31) to form a folded edge (33), which can be pulled off by a second partial amount, and at the same time, folded together in multiple layers by movement of the second gripper (26) combined with resetting of the first gripper (25), and a cutting device (27) cuts the material sheeting (01) to form the fabric section (34) the length of which between the front edge (31) and the rear edge (36) corresponds to the sum of the first and second partial amounts.

  • Patent number: 6591513
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus (40) and a method of aligning an edge (7) of a textile material web (43). Said material web (43) is delivered so as to lie at least in sections flat on top of a work surface (10) and, while lying on the work surface (10), is conveyed in a conveying direction (9) by means of a conveying device (11, 12a, 12b). An adjusting member (46, 47) is applied from above at least in sections against the material web (43) in the course of conveying in conveying direction (9) in the region of at least one edge (7) extending parallel to the conveying direction (9), wherein the material web (43) is at least slightly pressed between adjusting member (46, 47) and work surface (10). The adjusting member (46, 47) is, on the one hand, displaceable synchronously with the conveying motion of the material web (43) parallel to the conveying direction (9).

  • Patent number: 6533267
Abstract: A method of aligning a portion of textile fabric, whereby at least two movable gripping elements of a display device are brought alongside one another into contact with and fastened to a front edge of the portion of fabric and the gripping elements are moved substantially parallel to the surface of a display surface until the portion of fabric is laid out with one side flat on the display surface. In this case, the feed rate of the independently controllable gripping elements (2a, 2b) is so selected that the alignment of the portion of fabric (4) is variable by a feed difference (d, v) between the gripping elements (2a, 2b).

  • Patent number: 6405589
Abstract: An arrangement for examining a textile material section is provided, more particularly of toweling goods, by visual inspection by an examiner. In this respect, the examining arrangement has a laying area arranged in the field of vision of the examiner, in which the material section can be positioned so that it is laid flat for examination of the first side of the material section. In addition, the examining arrangement includes a turning device (2, 3), by which the material section (4), starting from the position for examining the first side (8) of the material section (4), can be reversed in such a manner that the material section (4) can be positioned so that it is laid flat in the laying area (6) for examination of the second side (10) of the material section (4).

  • Patent number: 6347596
Abstract: A device (1) for the transportation of a length of cloth (10) is disclosed. The device has a slide face (7) on which the length of cloth (10), laid out flat, can be moved, and at least two conveying belts (140-14d, 17), each disposed so that they run in the direction of conveyance (13, 16). The first conveying belt (17) is disposed in front of the second conveying belt (140-14d) in the direction of conveyance (13, 16). For the purpose of io the transmission of a conveying motion, at least the second conveying belt (140-14d) can be brought into contact with the length of cloth (10) from above. In the transition region between a first conveying belt (17) and a second conveying belt (140-14d), there is provided at least one pressure element (20, 21) which, pressing the length of cloth (10) against the slide face (7), can be brought into contact with the length of cloth (10) from above, at least in regions.

  • Patent number: 6309336
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for folding a portion of a textile length, in particular a bed sheet or similar, with a lengthwise folding device (16) in which the textile length is folded to produce a tubular folded product (2) with lengthwise folding edges extending substantially parallel to one another, and a crosswise folding device (1) in which the tubular folded product (2) is folded to produce a folded product in packet form with at least one crosswise folding edge (14) extending substantially perpendicularly to the lengthwise folding edges. The tubular folded product (2) can be brought to lie with one lengthwise edge against a stop strip (23, 24), at least in certain regions, in the crosswise folding device (1) before being folded. A drawing device (12) is disposed in the region between the two ends of the tubular folded product in order to draw in the folded product for crosswise folding.

  • Patent number: 6241232
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for folding a textile fabric length (11) is provided with at least two transport belts (2, 3) which can be driven in opposite directions, wherein a gap (27) is disposed between the transport belts (2, 3), through which gap the fabric length (11) can be drawn while forming a fold when the transport belts (2, 3) are driven in opposite directions. In order to achieve greater folding accuracy, a gripping member (4) is disposed above the two transport belts (2, 3), which member can move substantially parallel to the upper side of the transport belts (2, 3) and can be brought to lie between the front and the back end (12, 23) of the unfolded fabric length (11) with a fixing action.
