Abstract: A fixture configured to secure a component in a vehicle includes a panel separating an internal cabin from an external compartment. The panel has a first side facing the internal cabin and a second side facing the external compartment. A hole is disposed within the panel. The component is configured for mounting to the panel via the hole. The component includes a flange configured for abutting the first side of the panel and a coupling feature configured to extend through the hole into the external compartment. A fastener is configured to removably couple with the coupling feature and abut the second side of the panel for fastening the component to the panel.
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for maintaining bulk fuel temperatures in an aircraft. In one aspect, a recirculation system causes fuel to be delivered from a relatively low point near the feed hopper of each tank on the aircraft to one or more outboard locations of the wings. Once there, the fuel, due to gravity, flows back over the lower skin of the wing in channels back towards the fuselage, thus cooling the fuel. In other aspects, control systems are disclosed that coordinate the recirculation based on fuel levels in the tanks and fuel temperatures. The control systems also utilize a fuel scavenge system to maintain acceptable temperatures in the tanks.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system for an amphibious aircraft where floats on each side of the aircraft include aerodynamic structures. The structures are configured to compensate for aerodynamic imbalances (e.g., in yaw and pitch) created by the incorporation of the floats onto the aircraft.
Abstract: An aircraft includes a wing positioned below a vertical rotor, the wing extending in a transverse direction to a wingtip having an outboard face, and a turbulence feature located on the wingtip and oriented to induce turbulence in the rotor downwash flowing across the outboard face in a direction from a top surface of the wing to a bottom surface of the wing.
