Patent number: 12221226Abstract: A system and a method for contactless power generation for a lighting arrangement configured on an aircraft propeller. Power is produced when a magnetic field produced by an arrangement of magnets on an airframe magnetically interacts with coils configured on an aircraft propeller. When the propeller spins, rotation of the mounted coils through the magnetic fields of the magnets generate power. Electrical wiring carrying charge from the coils to the lights is laid into grooves formed in propeller blades which connect to lights inserted in formed sockets.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2024Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: Textron Aviation Inc.Inventor: Brian T. Patent number: 11851207Abstract: A fixture configured to secure a component in a vehicle includes a panel separating an internal cabin from an external compartment. The panel has a first side facing the internal cabin and a second side facing the external compartment. A hole is disposed within the panel. The component is configured for mounting to the panel via the hole. The component includes a flange configured for abutting the first side of the panel and a coupling feature configured to extend through the hole into the external compartment. A fastener is configured to removably couple with the coupling feature and abut the second side of the panel for fastening the component to the panel.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2023Date of Patent: December 26, 2023Assignee: Textron Aviation Inc.Inventor: John Harrison Shively

Patent number: 11623759Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for maintaining bulk fuel temperatures in an aircraft. In one aspect, a recirculation system causes fuel to be delivered from a relatively low point near the feed hopper of each tank on the aircraft to one or more outboard locations of the wings. Once there, the fuel, due to gravity, flows back over the lower skin of the wing in channels back towards the fuselage, thus cooling the fuel. In other aspects, control systems are disclosed that coordinate the recirculation based on fuel levels in the tanks and fuel temperatures. The control systems also utilize a fuel scavenge system to maintain acceptable temperatures in the tanks.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2019Date of Patent: April 11, 2023Assignee: Textron Aviation Inc.Inventors: Thomas Edward Dwier, Robert G. Wellemeyer

Patent number: 11498674Abstract: Disclosed is a system for an amphibious aircraft where floats on each side of the aircraft include aerodynamic structures. The structures are configured to compensate for aerodynamic imbalances (e.g., in yaw and pitch) created by the incorporation of the floats onto the aircraft.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2020Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Assignee: Textron Aviation Inc.Inventor: Neal Herbert Willford
