Abstract: A novel automatically submersible and refloatable underwater tubular pipe platform geometric structure adapted for deployment in underwater target monitoring systems and the like, wherein the floating upon the surface of the water enables flooding of the pipe structure and its submergence, and the introduction of compressed air drives the water out of the pipe platform structure to enable its automatic re-floating.
Abstract: Disclosed are a thermoplastic elastomeric polypropylene (and other olefin homopolymerized polymers) made using a metallocene catalyst and a single olefin monomer, and a method of preparing the same to produce a chain of alternating stereo regular crystallizable segments and stereo-irregular non-crystallizable polymerized segments, the former acting as physical crosslinks between tee non-crystallizable segments to form a thermoplastic elastomeric material having good elastomeric properties.
Abstract: This invention relates to polymer alloys and the "one-pot" polymerization process for preparing the same from a single monomer, wherein the product is comprised of two semi-crystalline homopolymers having different micro-structures and a well-defined block copolymer having alternating sequences of the two structural segments of the homopolymers, and with the formed alloy being "naturally" compatible without the need for thermomechanical mixing or addition of a compatibilizing additive, including the presence of a comonomer and formed with catalyst compositions enabling the direct synthesis of "naturally" compatibilized polymer alloy that combines four components: two components being organometallic complexes of Group IVB or VIII elements, a third component being a cocatalyst which irreversibly reacts with at least one nonhapto ligand on the transition metal complex, and a fourth component that is a cross-over agent selected from the group of hydrocarbyl or substituted hydrocarbyl compound of Group IIA, IIB or
Abstract: This invention relates to thermoplastic elastomeric polyolefin alloys (preferably polypropylene alloys) and the processes for preparing naturally compatibilized polyolefin alloys using a "one-pot" polymerization of a single monomer (preferably propylene), whereby two homopolymers having different stereoisomeric structures are produced (preferably stereoregular and stereoirregular), as well as a third block copolymer having alternating sequences of the two structural segments of the two homopolymers; and wherein catalyst compositions are used enabling the direct synthesis of naturally compatibilized polymer blends comprising for components: two organometallic complexes of group IVB elements, a catalyst which irreversibly reacts with at least one ligand on the transition metal complexes converting it to catalytically active state, and a hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, or oxyhydrocarbyl compound of Group IIA, IIB, and IIIA metals, which functions as a cross-over agent.

Abstract: This invention is a simplified combination backpack, cot and tent formed and integrated around a lightweight hinged metal frame which unfolds at hinge to form cot and internal tent frame structure. The tent, with draft skirt stored within the two halves of the folded frame, is then erected for shelter protection. After the frame is unfolded, the backpack will be suspended from the underside of the cot, off the ground and accessible from inside the tent through the cot fabric by means of a zipper.

Abstract: A fully automated protein and/or DNA gene fragment analyzing machine and method are disclosed in which, in a simple machine structure, a plurality of electrophoresis calls each containing such fragments, are robotically, under computer programming, inserted into an electrophoresis housing and subjected to voltage for producing electrophoretic migration in one dimension (horizontally), and then preferably after robotic 90.degree. rotating of the cells, are voltage migrated in an orthogonal direction to separate the fragments vertically, and then robotically presented to an optical image scanner for identifying the brightest fragments and classifying the same, with comparison with reference image fragment locations of normal or variant fragments, and for computer storing all relevant data.
Abstract: The invention encompasses a semi-automatic and/or automatic computer-aided technique for designing comprehensive DNA diagnostic tests for mutations in disease genes through searching for optimized conditions for PCR amplification and for optimal melting behavior in denaturing gradient gels and for optimal distribution in two-dimensional electrophoresis display of the mutational target fragments.
Abstract: A novel user-friendly method of and system for integrating the use of a plurality of different communication techniques for over-the-Internet interfacing between a central server storing a plurality of different information topics and user identification information and a plurality of independent user computer stations which have selected common information topics and are widely geographically separated, for such purposes as information and dialog networking of schools and other groups with common topic interests, and enabling real-time intercommunication amongst such users and with the server, and including growing the information on the selected topics through Internet feedback to the server of user dialog and supplemental information relating thereto; the method creating a virtual common room atmosphere for all the users (such as the same virtual classroom) wherein, irrespective of the diverse geographical locations and actual distances of the varied user stations from one another and from the central serv

Abstract: A non-lethal incapacitating ammunition round and technique is disclosed using a bundle of adjacent flat-faced resilient cylindrical projectile plugs that, after firing, are set into tumbling motion in various orientations to slap and bruise the skin of a human or animal target at multiple locations of the body, with and without the simultaneous delivery of dye marking or subduing substances.
Abstract: A method and garment aid to facilitate and induce the use of a condom for safe or safer sexual acts are disclosed, wherein a pocket containing a condom is carried, for example, at the inner forward waistband region of underpants, such that a potential participant, when removing such underpants, as a general precondition to engaging in the sexual act, will invariably touch or be conscious of the pocket-and-condom, thus providing a warning and a reminder of the proximal presence and readily accessible convenience of the juxtaposed condom that may serve to induce use of the same and thereby increase the chances of the enactment of safe or safer sex. Novel pockets including modified condom-package-pockets are disclosed.
