    Abstract: A vandalism-proof lever handle system for activating a locking or latching device has a U-shaped lever handle having first and second bent end portions with a central or intermediate portion therebetween. A second end portion is secured to a mounting surface and has an extended portion for engaging the lock or latching device for activating the same. The opposite first end portion is movably secured to move in an arc-like path within a curved retaining channel forming an arc segment of given arc length. The first end portion is entrained preferably by a shoulder bolt or collar having a widened end portion. The widened end portion or widened portion of the shoulder bolt is received in an interior of the channel. End portions of the retaining channel form abutments or stop points which limit further movement during rotation of the lever handle. The shoulder bolt or widened collarlike element limits rotational, lateral, vertical, and inward and outward forces placed on the lever handle.

    Abstract: A cylinder lock is provided which comprises a cylindrical housing; a core which is rotatably mounted in the housing, thereby defining a shear line; a first tumbler slidably disposed in a first aperture; means for moving the first tumbler between a locked and an unlocked position; a second tumbler slidably disposed in a second aperture; and means for moving the second tumbler between a locked and an unlocked position. When the lock is in the locked position, the first tumbler extends across the shear line into the first aperture of the core. When a correct key is inserted into the keyway, the first tumbler is urged completely into the core below the shear line. The second tumbler is arranged such that when the lock is in the locked position, the second tumbler extends across the shear line and such that when the correct key is inserted, the second tumbler is urged completely into the housing above the shear line.

    Abstract: An improved security door hinging system, wherein the door hinge comprises locking elements in the shape of circular posts on each hinge leaf. Lock engaging means in the form of apertures are located on the door and the door frame to engage the locking elements of the hinge. The locking elements and the lock engaging means cooperate when the door is in the closed position to secure the door to the door frame in the event the conventional mounting screws become inoperable, as when excessive force is applied to the door hinge area.

    Abstract: A solenoid-operated door lock has a pivotally mounted deadlock lever which can lock either a latchbolt or a deadbolt. The locking and release movement of the deadlock lever is controlled by pivoting a release lever which is biased by a spring to maintain the deadlock lever in its selected operating positions. A solenoid-controlled main operating lever pivots to extend or retract the latchbolt or deadbolt through a lost motion connection. The lost motion connection ensures that the deadlock lever is moved to its release position before the latchbolt or deadbolt is retracted into the lock. The lock includes a triggerbolt which is extended when the door is open and is pushed into the lock when the door is closed. Switches are provided to monitor the operational condition of the lock and the position of the door. Indicator lights are provided at a remote guard station to show the operational condition of the lock. A switch is also provided to control the energization current of the solenoid.

    Abstract: A device for creating an optical illusion and for concealing an object, animal or the like to be produced defines, a space in which a reflective member is transversely disposed to divide the space into two compartments. In the device the optical illusion is effected in the first or lower compartment by a lined design on the inner walls of the compartment and the operative association of the coated peripheral edges of the reflective device which blend into and form part of the design to create the effect of double the space represented by the first or lower compartment. The second or upper compartment is concealed behind the reflective device and will hold the object, animal or the like to be produced.
