  • Publication number: 20130116122
Abstract: A homogeneous gas-evolving composition is provided that includes an acid, a gas-evolving acid neutralizing agent, and at least one of an inorganic carbonate, inorganic bicarbonate, alkaline peroxide, or alkaline azide. A water-soluble desiccant is homogeneously intermixed with the acid and the gas-evolving acid neutralizing agent. The desiccant is present in an amount able to absorb ambient moisture equivalent to at least 0.01 total weight percent of the composition before gas evolution of more than 50% of the theoretical gas evolution available from the composition. To confer storage stability, the acid, the gas-evolving acid neutralizing agent, and water-soluble desiccant cumulatively have a water content of less than 1 total weight percent water. Through appropriate selection of a desiccant or inclusion of a surfactant foaming agent, the composition foams upon drenching with water. The composition is particularly well suited for consistent usage of glyphosate herbicide.

  • Publication number: 20130092748
Abstract: A hose attachment particulate spreader device is provided that includes a housing having a particulate egress aperture. A first funnel channel is provided for conveying dry flowable particulate. A selector controls a first gate in communication with the first funnel channel. The first gate meters dry flowable particulate within the first funnel channel. A water inlet is also provided for engaging a water supply hose. A water trigger is included for simultaneously opening a second gate in communication with the first gate and the egress aperture, as well as applying a water spray to exhaust a content from the funnel hose out the egress aperture. A process for field spreading is provided that includes attaching a bottle to such a device, the bottle containing a content of a dry flowable particulate or a slurry.

  • Patent number: 8409648
Abstract: A machine and method operable to mass produce batches of dough in selectable, discrete and customizable batches and control the temperature of the dough under various environmental conditions is provided. The machine and method adjusts the temperature of the water introduced into a batch of dough in order to make a batch of dough having a predetermined temperature. Specifically, the machine includes a controller operable to adjust the temperature of the water based upon first law of thermodynamics to produce a batch of dough having a predetermined temperature. The machine includes a bowl for containing dough ingredients, a water source operable to selectively introduce water with the dough ingredients, a controller, and a water temperature controlling apparatus. The controller actuates the water temperature controlling apparatus to change the temperature of the water introduced into the bowl so as to form a batch of dough having a predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 8404259
Abstract: An inert dispersible granular substrate is suitable for use as a carrier for chemical agents. The granular substrate is comprised of one or more mineral components, the one or more mineral components having a bulk density of greater than about 70 pounds per cubic foot, one or more dispersibility additives; and one or more water soluble binders. The granular substrate has a bulk density of from greater than 55 pounds pcf to about 70 pcf, a water dispersibility of less than 5 minutes, a pH of from 6 to 8, and sufficient strength to survive formulation processing after 3 days of continuous exposure to a temperature of approximately 75° F. and a relative humidity of approximately 95%. Preferably, an active pesticide is applied to the dispersible granular substrate. The water dispersible granular substrates may be produced by forming a granular substrate admixture, pelletizing the admixture to form granular substrates, and drying the granular substrates.

  • Publication number: 20130053455
Abstract: A method for extracting oil from a compressible solid material including oil droplets contained within respective droplet tissues includes injecting liquid water into the compressible solid material; mixing the liquid water into the compressible solid material; if the liquid water is not in a sub-critical condition, bringing the liquid water to the sub-critical condition; and vaporizing the liquid water for releasing energy into the compressible solid material. The released energy ruptures the tissues around at least one of the respective oil droplets for releasing the oil droplets from containment within the respective droplet tissues. The released, oil droplets are extractable by compressing the compressible solid material.

  • Publication number: 20120302565
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and methods of use thereof to prevent and/or treat pathogenic infection. In particular, the present invention provides the use of kinase inhibitors to inhibit kinases that involve in pathogen-host cell interactions that are associated with or cause pathogenic infections, therefore, to effectively prevent and/or treat pathogenic infections with far less likely to engender resistance as compared to conventional antibiotics and anti-viral drugs. The present invention further provides the use of kinase inhibitors for the treatment of acute pathogenic infections for a short period of time to avoid toxicities that may caused by long term use of these kinase inhibitors.

  • Publication number: 20120291368
Abstract: An antenna tower is provided having one or more antennae at the removed end thereof, which tower is configured for ease of maintenance of the antenna by a serviceman standing on the ground and servicing the antenna. Applicants' antenna tower includes a fixed vertical base or mast tube, fixed to the ground and having a removed end. At or near the removed end of the base tube, a swing tube is pivotally attached. The swing tube has a first end removably coupled to a near end of the base tube, and a removed end extending beyond the removed end of the base tube. Attached to the removed end of the swing tube is a pivotally mounted configured member or pivot tube. The pivotally mounted elongated member receives an antenna thereupon. The pivot tube is removably coupled to the swing tube to allow the pivot tube to rotate.
