Patents Assigned to The Antenna Company
  • Patent number: 4931806
Abstract: A window-mounted cellular mobile telephone antenna includes an outside module for mounting on the outside surface of a vehicle window in registration with an inside module mounted on the inside surface of the window. The outside module includes a capacitive coupling element and a generally vertical radiating element not less than 5/8 wavelength at the antenna operating frequency. The inside module includes a self-contained electrical circuit forming a ground-plane for the radiating element, an inductor for matching the impedance of the radiating element to that of a coaxial feedline, and a capacitive coupling element interacting with the coupling element of the outside module and the dielectric of the window glass to form a coupling capacitor. The length of the radiating element may be increased beyond 5/8 wavelength to reduce impedance matching requirements in the inside module.

  • Patent number: 4794458
Abstract: A modulation device especially suitable for use in a joint TV reception device for tuning the input video and audio signals to various TV channel frequencies. The device includes a modulator for modulating a carrier wave with the video and audio signals to provide a modulated signal, a mixer for mixing the modulated signal with a local oscillation signal to provide mixed signals, a wide band amplifier for amplifying the mixed signals and a variable low-pass filter for filtering the amplified mixed signals to provide a TV broadcasting signal of desired frequency. The device further includes a control device for controlling the frequency of the local oscillation signal and the cutoff frequency of the variable low-pass filter so as to cancel a higher harmonic component from the output signal to avoid undesirable inteference.

  • Patent number: 4788513
Abstract: A device to be incorporated with a balanced modulator included in a sub-channel of a stereophonic modulator circuit for suppressing a subcarrier component remaining in the output signal of the balanced modulator. This device only includes a full-wave rectifier for rectifying the subcarrier and a mixer for subtractively mixing the output of the modulator with the rectified subcarrier wave, thereby effectively cancelling the remanent subcarrier component in very simple and economical fashion.

  • Patent number: 4542300
Abstract: An improved high frequency signal changeover switch is provided for use especially as a horizontal-vertical selection switch in an artificial satellite broadcast receiving system for the purpose of selectively delivering either vertical or horizontal polarization signals received at its two inputs, respectively, from its single output. This inventive switch has such a significant feature over the prior art switches in that no mismatch occurs among all of these terminals.

  • Patent number: 4527136
Abstract: A transmission line device for coupling two radio waves, such as horizontal and vertical polarized waves such as satellite transmissions, which are traveling in a particular direction along a pair of main transmission lines, selectively to a branch line without problem of mismatch, wherein the branch line is composed of a single feeder and selection of the two waves is effected simply by applying a positive or negative voltage to the feeder.

  • Patent number: 4509198
Abstract: A satellite broadcast signal receiving system for receiving a plurality of signals of individual transmission bands, which are mutually different in frequency and/or polarization angle, transmitted through an artificial satellite, wherein the signals picked up by an antenna or antennas are first applied to a plurality of outdoor units each corresponding to one transmission band and comprising a convertor for converting the incoming signal into an IF signal, and the converted IF signals are then applied through a change-over switch to a common indoor unit including a demodulator to be demodulated for application to a conventional television set or the like.
