Abstract: A series of interleaved roll mounted bags and dispensers for them are described. The bags are folded longitudinally and rolled with an upper portion of each bag located above a lower portion of a succeeding bag. The compact roll of bags is placed in any of a variety of dispensers with the upper end of the outermost bag extending outwardly from the dispenser. As the upper portion of the first bag is pulled from the roll, the bag roll will rotate, presenting the succeeding bag for dispensing after the first bag is removed. In a variant of the invention, the rolled bags are gusseted T-shirt style shopping bags. These T-shirt bags have top and bottom seals, gusseted sides, a U-shaped cutout at the top seam, an open mouth and a pair of bag handles. Variations of the dispenser include a simple tray with an open top, and various configurations involving one or more restraining members. The dispenser may be tilted to control movement of the bag roll.

Abstract: Method of making gusseted plastic bags in either rolls or stack packs, each bag having at least one plastic promotional strip extending along a side edge of the bag and secured adjacent to top and bottom edges. The promotional strip may be disposed either between the folded bag edges forming the gusset or outside of the gusset, and may or may not be perforated.

Abstract: A combination of a single or double hook-mounted pack of header bags in which, to facilitate removal of each bag, there is provided along the perforation line separating each bag header from the remainder of the bag, at least one elongated opening, such as a chisel cut. This enables one to practice the method of bag removal which involves simply placing the fingers below, or in the area of the elongated opening, and pressing the fingers down against the bag pack, thereby to separate the front wall of the bag from its back wall and pull the front wall away from the bag's back wall to open the bag for filling by the clerk's other hand.

Abstract: A rack for dispensing plastic bags from a roll of bags joined end-to-end and separated by a line of perforations and either an opening or a rupturable central area between the bags along the perforation line, comprising a rectangular cradle to hold the roll for removal of bags by unrolling them over a horizontal side element and past a pair of snagging elements which intercept the rupturable central area to restrain each ensuing bag as the preceding bag is pulled away from the roll so as to enable the preceding bag to be separated from the ensuing bag along the perforated and open or rupturable central area line. Provision is made to enable the cradle to be mounted either on or under a store counter, or against a wall.

Abstract: A method and device for dispensing plastic shopping bags in one or more different packs, each pack having bags of the same size with hook-receiving openings in the vicinity of the top edges of its bags, the device including a rack behind and below which is provided a downwardly extending hooking element centrally aligned with the bar. The bags of each pack may be brought up and draped over the mounting plate in reverse position, then their hook-receiving openings are pushed over the hooking elements. After being so disposed and hooked, the bags are then brought back forward from their reverse position and draped over the transverse bar to cause them to hang downwardly in front of the hooking element. Removal of a bag is accomplished by grasping the downwardly hanging bag and pulling out from the remainder of the draped bag packs to detach it from the hooking element.

Abstract: A method and device for dispensing T-shirt type plastic bags from a roll joined end to end in series but separable along perforated lines where the bag ends are connected, whereby the bags are rolled and the roll of bags is placed in a cradle for unrolling and passing between two bars above and parallel to the axis of the roll, at least one of the bars having a centrally disposed hooking snagging element past which the series of bags is drawn. When the open space between the straps of each T-shirt bag passes the snagging element, the latter catches the leading edge of the ensuing bag to restrain it sufficiently so that further pulling on the preceding bag results in its detachment along the perforated line for the ensuing bag. Rack means are provided to enable the method to be practiced.

Abstract: A method and means for dispensing plastic T-shirt type shopping bags which are in several different packs, each pack having bags of the same size, but different packs having bags of different sizes, the means comprising a rack having a supported transverse bar behind and below which are provided, for example, three downwardly extending hooking elements spaced from each other and centrally aligned with the bar. The bags of the smallest size are hooked over the uppermost hooking element by their central detachable upper edge closures, and brought up and draped over the mounting plate in reverse position. The bags of the next larger size are hooked over the next lower hooking element and brought up over the mounting plate and draped over the smallest bags. Similarly, the bags of the next larger size bag pack are hooked on the next lower hooking element and draped in reverse position over the second pack of bags.
