Abstract: A flashlight includes a tailcap switch and a flexible boot made of an elastomeric material covering the tailcap switch and providing a water-resistant and contaminant-resistant shield around the switch. The flexible boot preferably includes a substantially cylindrical bellows section and a flat exterior end surface with at least one substantially straight edge on the circumference of the end surface that reduces any tendency of the flashlight to roll when laid on its side.
Abstract: A flashlight includes a barrel portion for enclosing and retaining batteries and comprising an end for accepting a movable bulb enclosure. The moveable bulb enclosure engages the end of the barrel so that the bulb enclosure is axially movable along the barrel portion. A bulb holder is provided at the second end for removably holding a bulb such that the bulb is relatively stationary during axial movement of the bulb enclosure. A stop is provided on the end of the barrel portion for preventing complete removal of the movable bulb enclosure from the barrel portion.
Abstract: A switch for a portable light source such as a flashlight which has a housing for carrying one or more batteries and for supporting a lamp bulb. The switch includes a switch body securable to the housing and an actuator that is axially moveable relative to the switch body for electrically coupling and uncoupling an electrode of the batteries to one of the terminals of the lamp bulb to switch the lamp bulb on and off. The actuator is also rotatably moveable relative to the switch body to prevent axial movement of the actuator and thereby lock the flashlight in the on state.
Abstract: A solar rechargeable light has a lamp for illuminating a selected area such as the ground or a wall. A base is adapted to support the lamp in a fixed position to illuminate the selected area. An electrical storage device and power supply is electrically coupled to the lamp. A solar panel is electrically coupled to the electrical storage device for charging the storage device when the solar panel is exposed to light, wherein current from the storage device energizes the lamp, and wherein the solar panel is moveable relative to the base so that the orientation of the solar panel is substantially independent of an orientation of the lamp relative to the selected area.

Abstract: A low voltage light fixture for use with a multi-conductor wire, includes a base, a lens supported by the base, a pair of electrical conductors supported by the base which form a light bulb receptacle at their upper ends and wire engaging prongs at their lower ends, and a stake or post for supporting the base. A twist lock connector mechanism connects together the base, the stake and the wire.
