    Abstract: There is disclosed an improved roller skate having a unitary soleplate. The roller skate includes a pair or truck assemblies secured to the bottom surface of the soleplate at the toe portion and at the heel portion by a threaded fastener. The soleplate has an aperture for receiving each threaded fastener and a recess for receiving and confining an enlarged end portion of the fastener, and slot means in the soleplate, communicating with the aperture and the recess, allow insertion of the threaded fastener from the bottom of the soleplate.

    Abstract: There is disclosed an improved roller skate having a shoe structure and a unitary sole plate. The sole plate has a bottom surface and an upper surface adapated to receive the shoe structure and defines a heel portion, a toe portion and an instep portion therebetween. The roller skate further includes a pair of truck assemblies secured to the bottom surface of the sole plate at the toe portion and the heel portion by fastener means including a threaded rod and a correspondingly threaded fastener. The sole platet has an aperture for receiving the threaded rod and a recess extending from the upper surface towards the bottom surface. The recess communicates with the aperture and is dimensioned for receiving and confining the threaded fastener therein beneath the shoe structure and to restrain the fastener against rotation.

    Abstract: A light weight, strong die cast sole plate for a roller skate. The sole plate includes an action screw boss and a front truck ball socket in a sole plate toe portion. A central rib extends longitudinally between the action screw boss and the front ball socket. Diagonally disposed ribs extend from one side of the action screw boss to an opposite side of the front ball socket and cross the longitudinal rib. This structure permits production of a strong yet low cost sole plate.
