Abstract: A method for forming a striped dentifrice wherein a first dentifrice which appears unstriped when stored in a container having sidewalls at least a portion of which is transparent, is transformed into a striped dentifrice upon extrusion from the container, which method comprises storing the first dentifrice in the container provided with discharge means and striping means within the discharge means, sequentially filling the container with a striping dentifrice having a color which distinguishes the striping dentifrice from the first dentifrice, the striping dentifrice being stored in an area of the container separate from the first dentifrice, followed by filling the container with the first dentifrice, applying pressure on the dentifrices to cause the striping dentifrice to be applied to the first dentifrice within the container area in which the second dentifrice is stored and be simultaneously extruded together from the container, so that upon extrusion, the extruded dentifrice appears to have been magical

Abstract: The floss is comprised of a texturized yarn that has been coated and impregnated with a water-soluble polymer and the water-soluble polymer coating cured and set while the yarn is stretched and is under tension. The yarn while stretched and tensioned is at a reduced width, which allows for easier insertion of the yarn floss between teeth. The yarn floss is wound onto a spool in the decreased width condition. For use, a length of floss is removed from the spool and placed between teeth. The saliva in the mouth dissolves the cured and set water-soluble polymer with the floss expanding to fill the space between the teeth. The floss is optionally coated with flavors, medicants and other substances. These can be synthetic or naturally occurring substances such as herbal substances.

Abstract: The present thermoformed containers are recloseable and resealable. This is accomplished primarily by providing a thermoformed container with a threaded neck and the use of a conventional type of closure on the threaded neck of the thermoformed container. The threads are on the neck and preferably also on an outwardly extending peripheral edge on the neck. This outwardly extending peripheral edge is created in thermoform molding. The neck preferably also is in the form of a two or more ply structure and in a further preferred embodiment the neck is reinforced by the closure. The closure in the embodiment of external threads on the neck has a reinforcing plug. In this embodiment the reinforcing plug fits into the neck adjacent the inner wall of the neck while the threads of the closure contact the exterior wall of the neck. In the embodiment of internal threads on the neck the closure can have a skirt which is in close contact with the exterior wall of the neck. This will likewise reinforce the neck.
Abstract: A high foaming oral composition comprising in an orally acceptable vehicle, an effective antiplaque, antibacterial compound, and at least about 2% by weight of a mixed anionic/nonionic surfactant system in a weight ratio of about 7:1 to 2:1, respectively, which ratios are effective to increase the uptake of the antibacterial compound to dental tissue so as to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the administered antibacterial compound.

Abstract: A dual component antiplaque and whitening dentifrice composition in which the first component is a paste composition containing an antibacterial agent such as Triclosan and the second component contains a peroxide compound such as hydrogen peroxide in a vehicle thickened with a combination of an inorganic thickeners and an organic thickener other than an alkylene oxide polymer wherein the antiplaque and whitening efficacy of the components is unimpaired when the components are physically separated prior to use and thereafter are mixed upon application to dental tissue.
