Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a skid-resistant surface on a thermoformed object such as a bed liner. The method includes forming a blank of extruded plastic material, abrading the surface with a wire brush, reheating the blank and thermoforming the blank to open the abraded surface of the blank. The apparatus includes an extruder delivery mechanism delivering a blank of sheet material to a wire brush which is turned by an electric motor at a speed slightly greater and in the same direction as the travel of the blank under the roller.

Abstract: A protective liner for a truck bed of a pickup truck. The liner includes a front wall having an indicia mounting portion. The indicia mounting portion includes a frame surrounding the mounting surface dimensioned for mounting of a conventional sized license plate. The mounting surface may include graphics or lettering which is formed to protrude inwardly towards the cab of the vehicle to facilitate mounting. The liner also includes friction strips positioned between the ribs of the floor to provide friction to keep cargo from sliding about the floor. Finally, a molding for attaching the tailgate panel to the tailgate has a pair of arms for slidably receiving the panel and a flange to protect an adhesive strip from contamination.

Abstract: A cargo support bar for use with a truck bed or truck bed liners has a pair of spaced equipment holders. Each holder has at least two upwardly extending arms which define slots for carrying cargo and equipment. A center area is formed between the equipment holders for carrying sheet material. Straps with hooks are provided to extend over the cargo. The support bars have a plastic shell extending over a 2'.times.4' wooden core. Two or more of the bars are positioned within pockets formed in the side walls of a truck bed or a truck bed liner to extend across the width and to support cargo and equipment in a double tier arrangement.

Abstract: A truck bed liner is provided with an arrangement of angled wall portions and fillets to provide strength. A center front wall portion is angled forwardly between a pair of vertically aligned end panels having angled fillets to provide strength and rigidity. The angled center portion permits stacking of 4'.times.8' sheet material. A channel is formed in the floor to permit drainage of water from forward corners of the liner.
