Abstract: A method of atomizing a fluid composition is provided that includes dynamically measuring the minimum-required actuation energy for the fluid composition. The method includes the steps of: connecting a microfluidic cartridge with a housing of a microfluidic device, the microfluidic cartridge comprising a reservoir containing the fluid composition and a microfluidic die in fluid communication with the reservoir; the microfluidic device comprising a controller; measuring the minimum-required actuation energy for the fluid composition at a first time; atomizing the fluid composition in a first atomization period; measuring the minimum-required actuation energy for a fluid composition at a second time that is after the first time; and atomizing the fluid composition in a second atomization period.

Abstract: Techniques, systems and articles are described for preparing electrical cables for connections to a power grid. In one example, a system includes a cable preparation device configured to cut one or more layers of an electrical cable and a computing device configured to control the cable preparation device to cut the one or more layers of the electrical cable. The computing device may determine one or more target cutting distances and determine whether an actual cutting distance satisfies the target cutting distance. The computing device may detect defects in the electrical cable. The computing device may further determine whether the cable preparation device should be serviced.

Abstract: This application provides a displacement vector prediction method and apparatus in video encoding/decoding and a device and relates to the field of video codec technologies. In this application, candidate displacement vectors are constructed by combining displacement vectors related to a plurality of prediction modes, and then a predicted displacement vector of a current unit is derived from the candidate displacement vectors. Information about an encoded/decoded unit having a same prediction mode as the current unit can be used and information about an encoded/decoded unit having different prediction modes from the current unit is also allowed to be combined to derive the predicted displacement vector of the current unit, so that the candidate displacement vector has a higher possibility to be selected as the predicted displacement vector, thereby improving the encoding performance of the displacement vector.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a set of framing plan solutions for a building construction project uses a combination of code-based, physical, and performance attribute constraints, parameters, and variables and a ranking system that together provide framing plan alternatives selected from a calculated set of all possible framing plans. The framing plan alternatives are selected in a logical manner that considers constraints that are required as well as user selected and weighted constraints. Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a wiring protection device. The wiring protection device can comprise a first shell and second shell that are operably coupled with each other in a rotational engagement. The orientation, shape and hollow body of the respective shells allow for wiring to be guided through the device to a wiring coupler disposed in the second shell. Disposing the wiring and coupler(s) inside the body of the device can provide protection from contaminants during use and assembly, such as dirt, water, grease, and paint.

Abstract: A method for determining flow rates and phase fractions within a throughbore is disclosed.
