Abstract: A device and method for protecting an automobile from dents and paint scratches caused by the opening of a door of an adjacent automobile. The protection device (cover) is formed from a plurality of rectangular pockets containing a high-density cushion material. An additional pocket includes a magnetic strip for securing the device to a metal car door or side panel. A suction cup and drawstring mechanism are attached to the top of the device for use on a window or non-metallic automobile body. The front surface of the cover is made of a ripstop material and the inner surface is made from a soft material that will not damage the automobile paint or finish.
