Patents Assigned to The Hartwell Corporation
  • Patent number: 4114509
Abstract: An entry resistance means for a two piece fastener of the type having a plunger and a grommet, the grommet including a set of fingers having a contracted position for insertion through an opening and an expanded position locking the grommet in the opening accomplished by axial insertion of the end of the plunger component between the fingers; the entry resistance means is disposed axially from the fingers and comprises mutually engagable portions of the grommet and plunger which increases the resistance to entry of the plunger into the grommet without change in the dimensions of the grommet.

  • Patent number: 4099751
Abstract: A pin latch structure primarily intended for aircraft and arranged to be flush mounted. The latch includes a reciprocable latch pin arranged to be received in a conventional latch socket. The latch pin is retracted or extended by a handle and trigger assembly.Connected to the latch pin is an overcenter biasing means urging the latch pin into its latch socket and the handle and trigger assembly toward its closed condition when the biasing means is in one direction past center; and urging the latch pin to its retracted position and the handle and trigger assembly to its open position when the biasing means is past center in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4068522
Abstract: A gas leak detector incorporated in a rotary valve intended to be mounted in a gas system adjacent the source of gas, the detector valve having a first position permitting flow from the source into the system, and a second position in which any gas entering the system due to a large or small leak in the system is made visible as it passes through a bubble chamber. Alternatively, a U-tube monometer is used to indicate drop in pressure due to a leak in the system. Also two embodiments are arranged as to be assembled for left hand or right hand use, one of which is arranged to be held in TEST position, the valve moving to OFF position when released while in TEST position.

  • Patent number: 3983732
Abstract: A spring forming machine including an inclined bed structure provided with a front side having circular mounting channels surrounded by a ring of access openings, each surrounded by screwthreaded mounting sockets or perforations, and provided with a back side on which is mounted a main drive gear accessible through the openings. The mounting sockets support a variety of tool operating units each having a drive means extending through a selected clearance opening and terminating in a planetary gear engageable with the main drive gear. The mounting channels support separately, or in conjunction with the mounting sockets, a variety of wire forming tool components which are driven by corresponding tool operating units. The main drive gear also operates a wire feeding apparatus offset laterally from the bed structure.

  • Patent number: 3964364
Abstract: A fastener for joining sheet material having mating perforations, the fastener including a grommet and stud; the grommet having a head provided with an opening therethrough and a pair of spreadable stem elements; the stud being initially attached at one end integrally to the grommet within the opening and arranged, when severed from the head, to move between the stem elements and to rotate thereby to spread the stem elements and lock the grommet in place within the mating perforations; the stud having a retainer channel and the grommet having retainer projections for reception in the channel to prevent disengagement of the stud from the grommet after being severed therefrom for relative movement.
