Abstract: A wire frame 1 has an outer covering 2 which is provided with a pulling strap 3. The wire frame 1 has a U-shaped portion 6 leading to a pair of projecting free arms 7 which lead downwardly and forwardly of the portion 6. The outer ends of the arms 7 also splay out to the sides. The material 2 forms a channel member with side walls 8. The open end portion of a sock is draped at least partly about the side walls 8. The user then places his foot in the entry to the heel end 10 and pulls the aid and sock assembly onto his foot by means of the strap 3. The sock aid will flex readily to allow it to pass around the heel of the user to position the sock around the calf of the user and the sock aid can then be pulled free.

Abstract: A bath lift for lowering and raising invalids and disabled users into and out of a bath tub, having a frame with spaced opposite sides mounted on the bath tub. A shaft is rotatably mounted to each of the spaced opposite sides. A flexible cable is coupled to each of the shafts. The bath lift further includes a seat member having two sides and a rear. Each of the sides is coupled to one of the flexible cables, wherein rotation of either of the shafts effects a controlled movement of the corresponding side of the seat member. A back rest is pivotally connected to the rear of the seat member and is supported by the frame through a linkage. The linkage pivots the back rest as the seat member moves.

Abstract: A bath lift, for raising and lowering an invalid or disabled user out of and into a bath tub, comprises a seat member which is suspended at each side on flexible supporting tapes. The seat member is supported by the tapes through hinged side plates which extend downwardly from the seat member when the latter is in a raised position but which are collapsed below the seat member when the latter is in the fully-lowered position. Thus the seat member when fully lowered is close to the bottom of the bath tub whereas, when fully raised, it is suspended on the tapes above the level of the rim of the bath tub.
