Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing acyl peroxides. According to the method, an acyl compound is reacted with an organic hydroperoxide and a base, to generate a two-phase mixture. The pH of the two-phase mixture is adjusted to 6 to 13. The obtained organic phase is extracted with an aqueous solution of a base and the aqueous extract is recirculated to the reaction step. The method according to the invention allows the recirculation of unreacted hydroperoxide to the reaction step.

Abstract: Cyclohexane is reacted with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of nitric acid which is used as a catalyst in a suitable solvent for the production of trimeric cyclohexane peroxide.
Abstract: There is disclosed and claimed a wired network of electrically operable detonators. The network includes a plurality of wired detonator assemblies each including a detonator. The wired assemblies being connected into the network by connectors 10 each including at least one conductive spigot formation 16 removably receivable in a socket 32 which is at least partially lined with a conductive element 34. In the preferred embodiment each connector 10 includes first and second connector halves 12 and 28. The first and second connector halves each includes a body 14, 30 and part of a commercially available connector. The bodies in use forming a water-tight housing for the mating connector parts.
Abstract: A clamp for electrical cable, especially flat cable, wherein opposed jaws allow passage of the cable therethrough with fasteners providing inward biasing of the jaws toward mutual contact. Two recessed groove sections in each jaw provide a seat for the cable, including a more deeply recessed toothed section which grips the cable sheath, if any, and a less deeply recessed section which seats unsheathed cable. The jaws may be supported, vertically or horizontally, by stand-offs relative to a support structure. A conductive path is provided from the jaws, through the standoffs, to a support structure (electrical ground), for the purpose of grounding a wire mesh cable ground, frequently surrounding flat cable. The clamp is used proximate a cable connector so that the clamp and connector provide a complete mechanical and electrical cable termination system.
