Abstract: A holder for mounting to a shopping cart and supporting a smart device includes a receptacle for receiving a smart device and at least one fastener for securing the receptacle to a handle of the shopping cart. The receptacle includes a planar surface having a front face, a back face, and a sidewall that extends perpendicularly away from the front face and along each side and bottom of the planar surface. The planar surface also defines a channel for receiving an accessory associated with a smart device. The length and width of the receptacle are sized to permit the upper portion of a smart device to extend out of the receptacle and to configure the manner in which the smart device is received by the receptacle. The holder can be installed on a shopping cart to provide system for holding a smart device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing nutritional recommendations to a registered customer of a business make use of a central computer server and a database including nutritional scores associated with products offered by the business. The central computer server receives a list of products purchased by the customer from the business, and processes that list to assign a nutritional score from the database to each of the products purchased by the customer. The nutritional score of each of the products purchased by the customer is then compared with a nutritional score of one or more product alternatives such that, based on that comparison, a recommended product alternative is selected having a nutritional score higher than a corresponding one of the products purchased by the registered customer. The recommended product alternative is then transmitted to the customer via a software application running on a mobile device of the registered customer.

Abstract: A combined in-store and fuel center point-of-sale system having a first point-of-sale system, having a checkout manager and one or more checkout terminals, and a second point-of-sale system, having a fuel center and one or more fuel pumps, in communication with each other and with one or more primary databases containing marketing data, consumer data, customer data, master sales data, discount data, and merchandise product data, for generating a fuel discount at the second point-of-sale system based on first purchasing activity at the first point-of-sale system and/or second purchasing activity at said second point-of-sale system. The fuel discount is maintained for each customer in one of said primary databases and is based on a total purchase of products, a total purchase of product units, a total purchase amount of a product type, time period for total purchase of products, or a tiered spending amount.

Abstract: A computer-assisted method of determining and producing quantities of perishable, store-prepared food items that should be displayed for consumer selection and purchase on a daily basis is provided. The method includes collecting daily sales data for the perishable, store-prepared food items and saving the daily sales data in memory. For a current specific day of the week, the daily sales data is processed for prior occurrences of the specific day to determine, for each of the perishable, store-prepared food items, a quantity to be placed on display. A total preparation quantity is reported for each of the perishable, store-prepared food items.

Abstract: A loss reporting system and method for tracking, monitoring and evaluating loss in an enterprise is provided. The system receives product data from enterprise facilities, stores the product data, calculates performance information from the product data, and compares the performance information to a predetermined performance standard. The system can generate a viewable report using the comparison between the performance information and the predetermined performance standard.

Abstract: A storage system for storing products is provided that includes a frame having a first side and a second side opposite the first side and a dynamic support carried by the frame. A mover assembly is carried by the frame and is configured to engage an area of a product at rest on the dynamic support. The mover assembly moves the product along the dynamic support relative to the frame from a first location near the first side to a second location near the second side.

Abstract: A computer assisted method for evaluating inventory is provided. The method includes receiving case composition information and case cost information for a case at a store where the case composition information identifies an item of the case and the case cost information identifies cost of the case. An item cost of the item is calculated using the case composition information and case cost information and the item cost is stored in memory. Consumer code information is received for the item and the item cost of the item is retrieved. Inventory cost data is generated using the item cost.

Abstract: A method for storing and organizing item arrangement information for an enterprise is provided. Standardized item arrangement maps are generated at the enterprise level and disseminated to stores within the enterprise. Managers create store maps consisting of compilations of the item arrangement maps provided by the enterprise. The resulting store maps define the arrangement of all items within the store. The store maps may be used in conjunction with an inventory system to order items and stock the store. Additionally, store maps may be used with a location information system to provide item location information to consumers.

Abstract: A method for processing accounting data of an enterprise includes entering accounting data entries associated with one or more accounts in memory of an interactive system, the interactive system capable of communicating with a batch system. At least some of the accounting data entries are copied to the batch system. The batch system includes a processor configured for rejecting certain ones of the accounting data entries copied to the batch system based on predetermined rules stored in memory of the batch system and associating reject information with rejected accounting data entries for use in correcting the rejected accounting data entries. The rejected accounting data entries are copied including the associated reject information to the interactive system.

Abstract: An online shopping system that permits a customer to submit online orders for items and/or services from a store that serves both walk-in customers and online customers.
