  • Patent number: 5410150
Abstract: A fiber optic controller comprises a keyboard having a plurality of keys. Each key has a transmitting fiber and a receiving fiber wired therein. Light is provided to the transmitting fiber by a light emitting diode and travels to the key and, thence, to the receiving fiber by way of a reflective surface on the key which reflects the light when the key is in a depressed or "on" position. An electronic controller is controlled by signals from photo transistors which signals are initiated when light is transmitted by the receiving fiber to the photo transistor. The electronic controller, in turn, activates a power circuit which powers various of the operating components of a spa or hot tub.

  • Patent number: 4173328
Abstract: A positive-action non-leaking shut-off valve that requires minimal arcuate movement of the manual actuator from full-open to full-closed position is provided by three major components. A valve housing has a water-flow channel therethrough along its longitudinal axis and a cylindrical bore through said valve housing transversal to said water-flow channel. A lever-actuated valve shaft fits snugly into said bore. The valve shaft carries a plug therein that is centered for rotation about the centerline of the bore through the housing. The plug stoppers the water-flow channel when it is rotated against the openings that the water-flow channel makes with the cylindrical bore.

  • Patent number: 4102501
Abstract: A deflector assembly for a spray gun includes a mounting collar and a pivotable deflector blade. The mounting collar has a plurality of locking tines, or fingers, for permanent snap engagement about a spray nozzle. The mounting collar further includes a support tube with a pivotable groove on an upper surface and a pair of locking detents on a lower surface. The mounting collar is rotatable about the spray nozzle. The deflector blade comprises a locking retainer having a pivotal shoulder of a complementary shape to that of the pivotal groove of the mounting collar. The deflecting blade further includes a camming or prong lock capable of interengaging with the locking detents on the mounting collar. The deflector blade includes a plate member extending from the locking retainer having a planar impact surface on one side and a serrated surface on the other.

  • Patent number: 4001962
Abstract: A revolver in which the cylinder is indexed by the cylinder-indexing hand to a position just before the next chamber is in full alignment with the barrel where the corresponding cylinder notch partially overlaps the cylinder lock. The cylinder lock is provided with a cam-surface on its cylinder-engaging portion that engages the leading edge of the notch for camming the cylinder the rest of the way into its fully indexed position.

  • Patent number: 3996686
Abstract: A firing mechanism in which the hammer and trigger are interconnected by gears, so that the hammer can be cocked and fired simply by pulling the trigger in what is commonly referred to as double-action. The hammer is mounted so that it can pivot independently of the gears in order to discharge a cartridge. A sear connects one of the gears to the hammer so that it can be cocked by means of the trigger and then released when the trigger is fully retracted. A safety feature is also provided by mounting the hammer so that it is normally out of alignment with the firing pin and, thereby, can not accidentally discharge the gun. However, when the trigger is pulled the hammer is shifted bodily to bring it into alignment with the firing pin.

  • Patent number: 3988847
Abstract: A combined cylinder-release and safety device for a double-action revolver having a finger lever which is held in its normal, safety-off, position by the cylinder-spindle spring for manipulation in one direction against the pressure of the spring in order to release the cylinder. Provision is made for also moving the finger lever in the other direction beyond its normal position in order to lock the action, so that the gun cannot be fired either in double-action or in single-action.
