Patent number: 5971063Abstract: A vapor condenser includes a conduit defining a passage for guidingly communicating a vapor stream in a vapor flow direction from an inlet at a first location to a second location, a first heat exchanger between the first and second locations for open heat exchange between the vapor and a first coolant, the first coolant flowing in a direction that is counter to the vapor flow direction, and a second heat exchanger between the first and second locations for open heat exchange between the vapor and a second coolant. The vapor condenser automatically controls the flow rate of coolant in the first heat exchanger in response to changes in the density of the vapor in the vapor stream entering the conduit. Control of the flow rate of coolant is maintained, for example, by controlling the flow rate of individual dispersal devices, such as nozzles, or by controlling the number of nozzles operating.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1996Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventor: Marc Treppler

Patent number: 5782252Abstract: A parts washer is provided having structure for supporting at least one part to be washed and a means for mounting the supporting structure for rotation about a first axis relative to the support therefor. Structure is provided for delivering cleaning fluid from a pressurized supply to against a part in the part supporting structure with the fluid delivering structure including a conduit having directing structure thereon for directing the pressurized supply from the conduit in a discharge direction that is transverse to the first axis. Structure is provided for selectively repositioning the fluid directing structure relative to the part supporting structure. Preferably, the parts washer includes means for rotating the parts supporting structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1996Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventors: Gary Lewis, Marc Treppler

Patent number: 5722443Abstract: A parts washer is provided having a cabinet defining an interior space and a mechanism for entraining a liquid and/or vapor in the interior space. The cabinet defines an opening for accessing the interior space from externally of the cabinet. Mounting structure is provided for mounting a closure element to the cabinet for movement selectively between a) an open position wherein the interior space can be accessed through the cabinet opening and b) a closed position. Structure is provided cooperating between the closure element and the cabinet for defining a controlled flow path for the liquid and/or vapor in the interior space with the control flow path configured so that at least one of the liquid and vapor in the interior space is caused to change directions as it traverses the controlled flow path.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1994Date of Patent: March 3, 1998Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventors: Ted Marler, Marc Treppler

Patent number: 5540246Abstract: A parts washer is provided having a mechanism for heating and pressurizing a supply of cleaning fluid and delivering the cleaning fluid against the part during a washing operation. Structure for supporting at least one part to be washed is provided with the supporting structure having a first configuration during a washing operation. Structure is provided for providing ready access to areas around the supporting means wherein the access providing structure allows the first configuration of the supporting structure to be changed. Preferably, the access providing structure includes structure for pivoting a section of the supporting structure between a) a non-pivoted position wherein the supporting structure has the first configuration and b) a pivoted position wherein the supporting structure has a second figuration to provide ready access to areas around the supporting structure.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1994Date of Patent: July 30, 1996Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventors: Gary Minkin, Ted Marler

Patent number: 5492644Abstract: An improved cleaning/treating object of the type having a body with an exposed surface defined by a releasable cleaning/treating agent such that the body size diminishes as the cleaning/treating agent is released. A tag is connected to the body and has a message thereof. The tag is defined by a material that is different than the cleaning/treating agent so that as the cleaning/treating agent on the body is expended, the tag remains sufficiently intact that the message thereon is still identifiable.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1994Date of Patent: February 20, 1996Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventor: Gary Minkin

Patent number: 5427128Abstract: A parts washer is provided having a cabinet defining an internal space within which parts can be washed and a fluid holding space with the internal and fluid holding spaces being in fluid communication with each other. There is an opening in the cabinet communicating from the internal space to externally of the cabinet. The internal space contains a first fluid and there is a second fluid in the fluid holding space with the parts washer in a non-operating state. Structure for heating the second fluid in the holding space is provided so that the temperature of the second fluid is at least temporarily higher than the temperature of the first fluid in the internal space as the heating structure is operated at startup. A second structure is provided for directing heated fluid from the fluid holding space against parts in the internal space.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1994Date of Patent: June 27, 1995Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventor: Jordan Minkin

Patent number: 4143669Abstract: A power washer with a cabinet having liquid spray structure for cleaning of parts, such as automobile parts, and having a circular turntable within the cabinet for support of parts to be washed. The turntable is driven by a drive structure located exteriorly of the cabinet and having a drive wheel extended through an opening in a side wall of the cabinet to engage with a rim of the turntable to cause rotation thereof. The turntable is mounted for movement between an operating position within the cabinet and a part loading and unloading position outside the cabinet by movement through a front opening in the cabinet. A door is mounted on the movable support structure for the turntable whereby the door and turntable move together and a latch holds the door closed and causes the turntable to firmly engage said drive wheel.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1977Date of Patent: March 13, 1979Assignee: The Mart CorporationInventor: Gary E.
