Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of remotely changing operating characteristics of a communications device selected for signaling an incoming message or call to a user. To allow signaling an urgent incoming message or call to a user even if the device to be called is in a mute state, the method comprises the steps of: transmitting control data from a calling device (MSI) to a device (MS2) to called; changing a group of operating characteristics of the device (MS2) to be called in accordance with the transmitted control data; and signaling an incoming message or call in accordance with the operating characteristics set up in the previous step.

The method may additionally include calculating a gamma value based at least in part on an interval length distribution determined for the hypothesized text fragment. The method may also include classifying whether the image region is a text-containing region based at least in part on the calculated alpha and gamma values. Abstract: An eye tracker device (200) comprises a diffractive beam expander (207) to provide two substantially collimated illuminating light beams (B11, B12). The collimated light beams (B11, B12) provide two reflection spots (G1, G2) appearing in the image of the eye. The gaze direction (GZD) is calculated from the positions of the reflection spots (G1, G2) with respect to the pupil (P) of the eye (E1). The two illuminating beams (B11, B12) are provided by splitting an infrared laser beam (B4) into two in-coupled beams (B5, B6), which propagate in different directions in the substrate (7) of the beams expander. The in-coupled beams (B5, B6) are expanded and their light is subsequently coupled out of the substrate (7) by an out-coupling grating (230) to illuminate the eye (E1). The same substrate (7) may also be used to implement a virtual display device (100) for displaying virtual images to said eye (E1).
Abstract: A radio signal is input to a first terminal and output after amplification at a second terminal. There is a third terminal which is common to both the first and the second terminal. There is an inductance interfacing the second terminal to a direct current power supply; and a radio frequency filter connected in shunt with the inductance. In an exemplary embodiment the first, second and third terminals are respective base, collector and emitter terminals of a bipolar transistor. Such a bipolar transistor is characterized in that voltage from the power supply passes to the second terminal through the inductance but not through the radio frequency filter; and the signal output passes from the second terminal through the radio frequency filter but not through the inductance. The illustrated embodiments show the radio frequency filter as a surface acoustic wave filter in direct connection with the second terminal.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in which program information is obtained to an execution environment in an electronic device. The program information comprises at least a program code. A key is computed of the program information and a device specific secret value. The key is used to decrypt program specific state data in the execution environment and to encrypt modified state data after the execution.

Abstract: An approach is provided for customizing map presentations. A map customizing platform determines a degree of interest of a site represented on an image of a map by tracking at least one of a frequency of visit to the site and a time period of visit at the site. Information available from service nodes may include service property and usable transport information. Abstract: An example apparatus is caused to receive a video sequence of a plurality of frames, and activate one of a plurality of available decoding processes based on a comparison of a size of the frames to a predefined threshold. The apparatus is also caused to select some but not all of the frames of the video sequence as potential key frames of the video sequence. The selected frames are located at or close to predefined positions along a length of the video sequence. The apparatus is also caused to decode the potential key frames according to the activated decoding process, and cause output of at least some of the potential key frames as key frames of the video sequence. Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided that may provide a scheme for measurement reporting for minimization of drive tests (MDT) data. In the context of a method, an indication of a handover of a user terminal from a first cell associated with a first public land mobile network (PLMN) to a second cell associated with a second PLMN may be received by the user terminal. Responsive to the handover, an indication of availability of MDT measurement logged data may be provided to the second PLMN. A determination may then be made at the user terminal as to whether to provide the MDT measurement logged data to the second PLMN based on an identity of the second PLMN.
