  • Patent number: 8856026
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to the administration of rebates in different geographic locations and optimization of rebate processing. In an embodiment, a rebate processing device can detect a location of a consumer, and based on the location generate a rebate form in a language which corresponds to the location or preference of the consumer. The generated rebate form can include a mailing address to mail the form for processing, which may based on the location of the consumer and a rebate identifier to identify the rebate to transact. • Publication number: 20130066699
Abstract: A promotional rewards system processes data from transactions with consumers, some of which qualify for rebates. Qualified rebates are remitted to the consumer through a first value instrument, such as a widely accepted debit card account. The consumer can expend the rebate according to terms of use of the first value instrument issuer, typically in incremental amounts within a maximum period of time. Upon reaching an expiration date, or by another process such as when reaching a minimum balance or when requested by the consumer, at least part of a residual value associated with the account of the first value instrument issuer is applied to issue a second value instrument that can have different and potentially more restrictive terms of use, such as an in-store value card or a discount coupon. In this way, the residual value and its promotional effect are not lost.

  • Patent number: 8346600
Abstract: A method for processing a rebate claim. The method comprises providing a web site accessible by the consumer and integrated with a processing system accessible by the retailer. The processing system receives an identifier of a qualified transaction and/or of the consumer, and receives information from which it can be determined if the qualified transaction at least partially satisfies a rebate offer. Information from the consumer is received on the web site sufficient to match identifying information about the consumer to the information from the retailer and/or sufficient to satisfy conditions for making a rebate claim. The rebate claim is validated and the value of the rebate offer is transferred to the consumer. Embodiments are discussed relating to transactions on a computer network, making rebate claims via a wireless communications device, and use by membership clubs or in conjunction with loyalty cards or other designated cards.
