Abstract: A retractable bayonet that can be removably coupled to a firearm or used alone. The retractable bayonet includes a housing having a first side, a second side, an internal channel, a slot having first and second ends, and first and second opening; a blade configured to be displaced between a retracted position and an extended position along the internal channel within the housing; and a fastener secured to the blade and configured to slidingly engage with the slot. When the blade is in the retracted position, the fastener is positioned at the first end of the slot and engaged with the first opening. When the blade is in the extended position, the fastener is positioned at the second end of the slot and engaged with the second opening. With one-handed operations, the bayonet can be extended or retracted when not in use.

Abstract: A bayonet includes: a blade having a sharpened portion and a tang integral with the sharpened portion; a handle that encloses the tang of the blade and has a first end proximate to the sharpened portion of the blade and a second end proximate to an end of the tang of the blade; a guard between the sharpened portion of the blade and the first end of the handle; a clip that is affixed to the second end of the handle and is further affixed to the end of the tang of the blade; and a positioning access point on the handle proximate to the second end of the handle.

Abstract: The invention provides bayonet or survival knife 100 that insulates the user from electric shock. With the insulated bayonet or knife, the user can safely cut a wire regardless of whether the wire is electrified or not. As a further improvement, the invention provides the soldier with an indicator to warn the soldier or user that the wire that is being cut is also electrified. In one of its embodiments the invention provides a voltage indicator circuit that includes, in series, blade 102 and hand guard 104 of bayonet or knife 100, resistor 106, light bulb 108 such as a neon bulb, and electrical thumb terminal 110 embedded in insulating handle 112. Metal blade 102 and metal butt or bayonet latch 114 on the end of handle 112 are electrically isolated from each other by insulating extension rod 116.
