Abstract: Generally speaking, and pursuant to these various embodiments, a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium is provided that allows a guest to contact an owner or operator of a secured premises or area to gain access to the secured premises. An access control device initiates contact with a guest device and provides a resource to contact an owner device. If the owner decides to grant access to the guest, the owner selects a suitable input on the owner device so that the owner device sends an authorized signal to the guest device. The guest device acts as a gateway and forwards the authorized signal to the access control device. The access control device operates in response to reception of the authorized signal to grant the guest access to the secured premises.

Abstract: A process for producing a unitary graphene matrix composite, the process comprising: (a) preparing a graphene oxide gel having graphene oxide molecules dispersed in a fluid medium, wherein the graphene oxide gel is optically transparent or translucent; (b) mixing a carbon or graphite filler phase in said graphene oxide gel to form a slurry; (c) dispensing said slurry onto a surface of a supporting substrate or a cavity of a molding tool; (d) partially or completely removing the fluid medium from the slurry to form a composite precursor; and (e) heat-treating the composite precursor to form the unitary graphene composite at a temperature higher than 100° C. This composite exhibits a combination of exceptional thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, surface hardness, and scratch resistance.

Abstract: A method, device and system for displaying, via a user interface, an ambiance setting for a bathing system. The user interface is configured to display at least one display page on a display screen. The method comprises displaying on the display screen, a plurality of ambiance settings selectable by a user of the user interface, receiving, at a processor, an indication of a selected ambiance setting from the plurality of ambiance settings displayed on the display screen and in response to the selected ambiance setting, displaying on the display screen a first operational setting for at least one first type of bathing unit component and a second operational setting for at least one second type of bathing unit component. The first operational setting and the second operational setting are pre-programmed in association with the selected ambiance setting.

Abstract: A surgical tool includes a housing having a driver and a surgical blade configured to be bi-directionally rotated by the driver. The surgical tool also includes a footplate configured to receive the surgical blade. The footplate includes a bottom portion configured to rest on ocular tissue of a patient's eye. The bottom portion includes a slot configured to allow passage of a portion of the surgical blade through the bottom portion of the footplate and into the ocular tissue of the patient's eye. The footplate also includes multiple walls having multiple openings. The openings are configured to receive additional portions of the surgical blade such that the surgical blade is rotatable relative to the footplate. The footplate further includes an additional opening or open side configured to allow viewing of the surgical blade and the slot during use.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining social network information associated with a first user, wherein the social network information includes information identifying a second user who is related to the first user. A determination is made that the first user had selected, during a presentation of a first media content item by a first media processing device of the first user, recording of a second media content item that had been advertised during the presentation of the first media content item. Responsive to the determining that the first user had selected the recording of the second media content item, a second media processing device of the second user is directed to record the second media content item. The operations can include obtaining a plurality of live streams at a broadband connection to the processing system; providing an interface to facilitate input via a control device communicating with the processing system; presenting, responsive to a first user input, the live streams simultaneously at a display device; and identifying, responsive to a second user input, a set of favorite streams. The operations can also include presenting a program guide at the display device. The program guide can include a plurality of program guide objects; each of the set of favorite streams can include a separate program guide object that accordingly is selectable, via user input to the program guide, for presentation at the display device. The lockout setting may be independent of the damping setting.

Abstract: Door operator systems are described herein that include the use of an adaptor. It should be understood that the adaptor may be utilized in order to operatively couple separate door operator assemblies together in a double door operator system. The adaptor may include control components (e.g., switches, buttons, toggles, levers, or the like) that are used to turn the door operator system on and off. While the adaptor may be used to operatively couple two separate door operator assemblies together to form a double door operator system, the adaptor may also be used within a single door operator system. Furthermore, with respect to double door operator systems, the system may also utilize a back plate assembly comprising two or more separate back plates (e.g., two or more back plate portions).

Abstract: A suspension assembly for a bicycle is disclosed. The suspension assembly may be configured to use a volume of fluid in a fluid circuit for damping may comprise a volume compensator such as a bladder configured to provide an expandable volume to contain fluid in the fluid circuit and a relief valve configured to open to facilitate the flow of fluid through the relief valve rather than entering the volume compensator. The relief valve may be configured to open at a threshold setting. The volume compensator may comprise an expandable bladder. The threshold setting of the relief valve may be selected to prevent failure of the expandable bladder. The volume compensator and the valve may be contained in the fork assembly. The valve may be configured to open to facilitate the flow of fluid through the valve rather than expanding the volume compensator.

The marker file includes a plurality of markers indicating locations of contents-of-interest in the program. The system includes a data storage system to store the program and the marker file. The system includes a user control to receive requests to present the contents-of-interest indicated by the plurality of markers. The system includes one or more processors to determine the locations of the contents-of-interest in the program from the plurality of markers. The system includes a presentation output interface to present the contents-of-interest on a user interface. The presentation of the contents-of-interest skips some content in the program. The contents-of-interest are presented over a shortened duration that is less that a duration of the program when presented in its entirety.

Abstract: A screen intake apparatus has a concrete platform resting on a water source floor. A screen intake anchors on the platform and forms a half cylinder thereon. A barrier at one end of the platform in divides the flow of water. The screen intake has a half-cylindrical body and half-cylindrical screens. Transition walls in the screen intake divide the body's hollow and the screens' interiors, and at least one flow modifier communicates the interior with the hollow. These flow modifiers also form a half cylinder with the platform. A manifold in the screens receives a supply of air to clear debris. Forming a half-cylinder, the screen intake on the platform can have a much lower profile for the water source than the normal cylindrical screens, which require half of its diameter in clearance above and below.

Abstract: A barrier operator feature enhancement device is designed to provide one or more features found in modern barrier operator devices and to incorporate those features into a previously installed barrier operator system. To facilitate ease of use, the barrier operator feature enhancement device can communicate with a large variety of barrier operators. Such communication may be wireless or wired, depending on the communication protocol implemented by a particular previously installed barrier operator. To facilitate the ease of installation, the device is designed to configure itself to operate with the communication protocol of the previously installed barrier operator. Once configured to be able to communicate with the previously installed barrier operator, the feature enhancement device works with the barrier operator to provide one or more additional features to enhance the capabilities of the previously installed barrier operator.

Through the above structure, the main wall surface can be used as an information display to inform the user of the computer information.

Abstract: An example implementation may include a first device identifying a request from a second device for an instruction for aligning a satellite antenna. The first device may obtain satellite receiver data of a satellite receiver, responsive to the request. Based on the satellite receiver data, the instruction requested for aligning the satellite antenna is determined. The instruction includes determining a number of other satellite antenna angles for aligning the satellite antenna with other satellites, determining a satellite angle based on the other satellite antenna angles, and determining the instruction requested for aligning the satellite antenna based on the satellite angle. The satellite receiver data, including the instruction requested for aligning the satellite antenna, is provided by the first device to the second device.
