Abstract: A grapefruit knife for use in cutting sections of edible fruit from the less desirable membrane and peel is disclosed. The present invention includes a handle having two opposing ends, a single cutting blade attached to one end of the handle, and a scooping blade attached to the other end of the handle. Each of these blades has two cutting edges. On the cutting blade the two cutting edges are aligned serially, in a plane, to cut in the same direction, while on the scooping blade the cutting edges are opposingly arranged.

Abstract: A sleeve which is slid over the blade of a knife or the like and includes two interconnected sections. One of the sections includes a plurality of spaced molded clips formed in and spaced along a shoulder which extends around the periphery of the one section. The other section includes a plurality of cut-outs formed in and spaced along a shoulder which extends around the periphery of the other section. The clips on the one section extend through the openings defined by the cut-outs in the other section respectively and latch onto the shoulder on the other section for coupling the first and second sections together to form the sleeve.
Abstract: A manually operated, two lever arm type garlic press is provided which a detachably associated cleaning plate that is stored at the front end of the one of the lever arms (preferably, the first lever arm). The cleaning plate is provided with projections on its inner surface which are adopted to engage with apertures in the floor plate of the press chamber so as to clean debris from the apertures after usage of the garlic press. During storage, the projections extend forwardly from the associated lever arm. The cleaning plate is provided with opposing side clips and with top and bottom stabilizing legs that coact together and cooperate with side portions of the associated lever arm adjacent to the front end to hold the cleaning plate relative to that lever arm. Preferably, the top stabilizing leg also functions as a lock to retain the lever arms in a closed configuration during garlic press storage.

Abstract: A combination pitcher and mixing subassembly is described that incorporates a mixing head which is longitudinally reciprocally movable within the pitcher. The combination is particularly well suited for use with pitchers that are not cross-sectionally circular, such as pitchers that are elliptical or that have parallel; elongated side walls with semi-circular ends. The mixing head has a peripheral region which generally conforms to the internal bottom configuration of the pitcher. The mixing head has a plurality of straight, elongated vanes that extend across the mixing head in parallel, spaced, diagonal relationship to each other with the vanes on one side of the mixing head shaft being inclined at an opposite angle relative to those on the other side of the shaft. Preferably, the mixing head also has a plurality of vertically oriented, spaced, parallel baffle plates that extend across the mixing head perpendicularly relative to the vanes and that join the vanes at all locations of cross-over.
