Patents Assigned to The Pilot Ink Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 4968169
Abstract: A penpoint assembly includes a penpoint which is made of a metal plate cut off at both side edges to form a taper toward the writing tip. A slit is provided extending from the front end of the writing tip to the vicinity of the rear end of the writing tip along the center line of the penpoint. The penpoint is bent at the writing tip to form small bent projections at both sides of the slit, the bent portion surrounding a small space. An ink guide core extends under the slit and communicates at the tapered portion of the ink guide core with the slit. A support member supports the ink guide core and penpoint. A writing instrument includes the penpoint assembly, the support member being integrally formed with an ink flow regulating portion, so that ink in an ink storage member in the rear portion of a penholder is guided to the writing tip through the ink guide core.

  • Patent number: 4844642
Abstract: The cap for writing equipment comprises an air vent in the top portion, means installed on the inner peripheral surface for providing airtightness, a miniature cap movably enclosed in the axial direction in a space formed with the top face, the inner peripheral face and an annular boss for providing airtightness, a resilient seal positioned on the outside of the top of the miniature cap for blocking the ventilation between the air vent and the inside of the cap when the tip of the pen body is fitted into the cap and rebounders for pressing the miniature cap against the pen body. The annular boss for providing airtightness is so positioned as to block the ventilation in the longitudinal direction by forcing itself to contact the trunk of the pen when the tip of the pen body is fitted into the cap.

  • Patent number: 4840509
Abstract: A synthetic resin pen unit has a cylindrical outer annular member with inwardly extending bent and straight members. Each bent member has a base portion extending from the inner wall so that it is inclined with respect to a phantom line connecting the base of the bent member to the central axis of the cylindrical member. Ink grooves are formed between the inwardly extending members. The flexibility of the pan unit is a function of the percentage of bent members so that by proper selection and arrangement the pen characteristics can be optimized.

  • Patent number: 4790678
Abstract: A mechanism for extruding and retracting the writing member of a writing instrument which is set ready for writing by pressing a clip member vertically movable in a slit bored in the rear side wall of a cylinder, but held in a protruded state while the writing instrument is not set for writing. The clip member presses a flexible working element arranged under the clip member and having a plurality of elastic zigzag bent portions. The working element thus pressed down axially extends to press the back of the writing member contained in the front part of the cylinder and energized backward by spring action and moves the writing member forward. The tip of the writing member is protruded from the opening at the front end of the cylinder and the clip holder of the clip member is held inside the slit during writing.

  • Patent number: 4732810
Abstract: A new reversible temperature indicating composition for use in temperature indicating instruments is diclosed which is capable of accurate temperature indication in a variety of colors and characterized by a minimum range of hysteresis so that the marking drawn in this composition can decolor at or close the temperature at which its coloring takes place. In addition, the composition can provide a wide variety of hues and can be readily prepared. These and other advantages are provided by the inclusion as a main ingredient of an ester compound having .DELTA.T value, defined .DELTA.T=melting point--clouding point, in the range under 3.degree. C., the value that determines a desirably small range of hysteresis.

  • Patent number: 4720301
Abstract: A new reversible heat sensitive recording composition for erasable recording is disclosed which is used as a recording or marking material that is capable of erasure at a specific temperature so that coloring or decoloring can be controlled to occur at desired temperature ranges. This range or the hysteresis value of the composition is determined by the .DELTA.T value of the contained ester compound. In addition, the composition can provide a wide variety of hues and can readily be prepared. The marking or recording drawn in this composition can be maintained at room temperature or less.
