Abstract: The present invention relates to articles, preferably disposable absorbent articles like sanitary napkins and pantiliners, which comprise a cationic polysaccharide, preferably chitosan material, and silica. Such disposable absorbent articles deliver improved odor control performance (synergistic odor reduction) and improved fluid handling properties/absorption performance. In one embodiment of the present invention, articles are provided which comprise crosslinked silica-cationic polysaccharides. These articles deliver not only improved odor control and fluid handling properties when in use but are able to maintain these properties even upon prolonged wearing time, typically upon ageing of the bodily fluid in the articles and/or upon subsequent fluid discharge in the articles.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for forming a cleaning composition containing the steps of providing at least one alkaline material and at least one acid active, and adding the acid active and the alkaline material to a mixer. The acid active is substantially neutralized within the mixer to form a neutralized detergent active. At least one acid-sensitive polymer is added to the neutralized detergent active to form a slurry, and the slurry is formed into a cleaning composition. A cleaning composition as formed by the above process is also described herein.
Abstract: A hand-held cleaning device includes a hollow body member having an interior portion and an exterior portion, the interior portion comprising a plurality of separate reservoirs, an abrasive surface attached to the exterior portion of the hollow body member, and at least one passage leading from each reservoir to the abrasive surface. The present invention also relates to a cleaning system comprising a hand-held cleaning device and a refilling dock.

Abstract: A durable press process for rayon fiber-containing fabrics comprising treating a rayon fiber-containing fabric with an aqueous mixture containing a high concentration of formaldehyde, and a catalyst capable of catalyzing the crosslinking reaction between formaldehyde and the rayon, wherein the concentration of the formaldehyde is sufficient to produce a durable press fabric without substantially shrinkage of the treated fabric, followed by heat curing the treated fabric to produce a durable press rayon fabric without substantial shrinkage.
Abstract: Methods for improving patient compliance with a treatment regimen intended to treat, prevent, cure or alleviate gastrointestinal disorders and diseases wherein the patient accesses a web page, selects a virtual guide, inputs data and receives customized e-mail messages in the style and tone of the virtual guide intended to motivate and educate the patient.
