Abstract: A portable tooth-sensitivity demonstration apparatus and a process. The apparatus includes a main unit with a top cover having at least one tooth station thereon; an electrical circuit, a sensitivity indicator, and an on/off switch. A sensor in the tooth station is part of the electrical circuit to activate a response by the sensitivity indicator. A water-permeable tooth piece, treated with an oral-care product, is placed into the tooth station, and a few drops of water are deposited on top of the tooth piece. Lack of response from the sensitivity indicator shows an absence of sensitivity and hence effectiveness of the oral-care product, while a response from the sensitivity indicator shows existing sensitivity and thus failure of the oral-care product to seal the tooth piece. In an apparatus having multiple tooth stations, different oral-care products can be assessed simultaneously and side-by-side.
Abstract: A method of producing a multi-layer beauty care product for applying a skin active agent to the skin. The method involves applying a water-soluble fluid to a transfer substrate. The water-soluble fluid contains a skin active agent and is applied to the transfer substrate through an image carrier having a mesh size of 40 to 500. The water-soluble fluid is dried to form a water-soluble film, which is then transferred to a backing layer coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The resulting multi-layer beauty care product provides a suitable a means of delivering the skin care active agent to a target portion of skin.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for applying a transfer material from a transfer component onto the surface of an article are disclosed, including apparatuses and methods of transfer printing on and/or decorating three-dimensional articles, as well as the articles printed and/or decorated thereby. In some embodiments, the method may utilize a printer such as an inkjet printer. In some cases, the transfer material may be a UV curable ink and/or adhesive. When the transfer material is UV curable, the transfer component may be permeable to UV radiation to allow curing of the ink and/or adhesive therethrough. UV curable adhesives including thiol-acrylate and thiol-ene acrylate inkjet-able adhesives are disclosed. The UV curable adhesive may be colored (such as with white pigment) in lieu of providing a base (white) ink layer so that more UV radiation will be able to pass through the ink layer(s) in order to reach the adhesive.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing a product composition comprising steps of: Preparing a mixture composition comprising a surfactant and a high melting point fatty compound and benefit agent; Separately preparing an aqueous base composition comprising an aqueous carrier and water soluble polymer, wherein the base composition is substantially free of a detersive surfactant selected from anionic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, and combinations thereof; Mixing the mixture composition and the aqueous base composition to form a discrete particle of the mixture composition dispersed in the aqueous base composition. Alternatively, the method comprises steps of preparing a discrete particle of the mixture composition; and mixing it with the aqueous composition.

Abstract: A method of making a phosphono-phosphate compound is disclosed. The method involves a first step of mixing a first component comprising a phosphonic acid, a phosphonate or mixtures thereof, with a second component comprising a source of phosphoric acid or phosphate. The mixture has a molar phosphorous ratio of the first component to the second component of from 1:1 to 1:10. The second step involves either physically or chemically dehydrating the mixture to produce a phosphono-phosphate compound.

Abstract: Disclosed is a wearable article comprising a main body and a ring-like elastic belt comprising a front belt and a back belt, where the entirety of the length of the belt side edge of the front belt may be seamed with a certain length of the belt side edge of the back belt to define a seam length LS. The front and back belts may be each divided into 4 zones, where the tensile stress of the front proximal tummy zone may be higher than the tensile stress of any of the front waist zone, the front distal tummy zone, or the front leg zone, and the tensile stress of the back distal tummy zone may be higher than any of the tensile stress of the back waist zone, the back proximal tummy zone, or the back leg zone.
Abstract: An enhanced, co-formed fibrous web structure is disclosed. The web structure may have a co-formed core layer sandwiched between two scrim layers. The core layer may be formed of a blend of cellulose pulp fibers and melt spun filaments. The scrim layers may be formed of melt spun filaments. Filaments of one or both of the scrim layers, and optionally the core layer, may also be meltblown filaments. The fibrous web structure may have a Consumer Preference Indication (governing allocation of melt spun filaments between core layer and scrim layers) greater than 0. Alternatively, the filaments forming the scrim layers may constitute from 1 to 13 percent of the weight of the structure. Alternatively, the scrim layers may have a combined basis weight of from 0.1 gsm to less than 3.0 gsm. A method for forming the structure, including direct formation of layers, is also disclosed.
