Abstract: A compression foot garment is integrally knit of a body yarn, and adapted for wear on a foot of a user. The foot garment incorporates first and second high compression zones, and a compression release zone between the high compression zones. The first high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot below the plantar fascia between the calcaneus and metatarso-phalangeal joints and generally around the midfoot. The second high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot above the calcaneus and generally around an ankle of the user. The first and second high compression zones may comprise elastic yarns integrated with the body yarn. The compression release zone is adapted for applying reduced compression to the foot in an area between the first and second high compression zones.
Abstract: The various embodiments of the auction systems and methods described herein provide a web based service that allows medical facilities to both sell and buy medical devices and supplies at a discount. This web based service will enable hospitals that otherwise would have a financial loss, to sell their soon to be expiring products at a discount, and at the same time allow facilities that have an immediate need for devices to purchase them at a lower price based on a more limited expiration than if bought directly from the manufacturer. This maximizes savings on behalf of the buyers and minimizes losses on behalf of the sellers while consolidating inventory in the overall medical device/supply market.
Abstract: A guidewire has a coil with a side of the coil winds having solid physical connections between the coil winds to prevent the connected coil wind side from expanding resulting from the application of force by an actuating member. The application of longitudinal force to the coil causes the unconnected coil wind side to expand while the connected side does not expand, resulting in the guidewire assuming a different configuration.

Abstract: A method of extracting hydrocarbon-containing organic matter from a hydrocarbon-containing material includes the steps of providing a hydrocarbon-extracting solvent containing DMSO, Cellosolve, or a mixture thereof; contacting the hydrocarbon-containing material with the hydrocarbon-extracting solvent to form an extraction mixture; extracting the hydrocarbon material into the hydrocarbon-extracting solvent; and separating the extracted hydrocarbon material from a residual material not extracted.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fast, stable method of output wavelength control in a DWDM optical device, and a circuit configured to perform the method. The method and circuit can control timing and overshoot during conditions of rapid operational changes, such as during power-on or restart of the device. The method and circuit includes optimized APC, TEC and electro-absorption (EA) modulator control hardware and algorithms, to effectively control transient processes. Software and circuitry based on the method(s) are achieved in part by optimizing APC, EA and TEC control algorithms. In combination with hardware/circuit optimization, one can achieve fast turn-on of an optical output signal at a stable wavelength. The method and circuit provides a stable power-up process in which a change of wavelength is small enough to meet DWDM specification requirements, to ensure the elimination and avoidance of crosstalk in adjacent channels in dense wave (sub)systems.
