Publication number: 20200012385Abstract: Touch events can be detected using an ultrasound input device coupled to a surface, such as a surface of a piece of furniture or electronic device. The ultrasound input device can generate ultrasonic waves in the surface, the reflections of which can be measured by the ultrasound input device. When a touch is made to the surface (e.g., opposite the ultrasound input device), the physical contact can absorb some of the energy of the outgoing ultrasonic waves (e.g., the originally transmitted wave and any subsequent outgoing reflections). Energy measurements associated with the measured reflections can thus be used to identify touch events. Various techniques can be used to make the energy measurements and reduce identification of false touch events.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2019Publication date: January 9, 2020Applicant: UltraSense Systems, Inc.Inventors: Hao-Yen Tang, Mo Maghsoudnia, Man-Chia Chen

Publication number: 20200013306Abstract: A method of providing visual feedback to a driver based on data collected during vehicle operation. A processor at the vehicle analyzes vehicle data and determines when predetermined threshold values have been reached for particular parameters. Whenever such a threshold is reached, an audible indication is provided to the driver, indicating that the baseline has been exceeded. Certain parameters have at least two threshold values. When a first threshold value is reached, an alert is presented to the driver, but no data is recorded or reported. When a second threshold value is reached, another alert is presented to the driver, and data is recorded for reporting to a driver manager or supervisor. This approach provides a driver warning, that if they correct the triggering behavior, their supervisor is never notified of that behavior. However, if the behavior escalates, and the second threshold is breached, the behavior is recorded.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2019Publication date: January 9, 2020Applicant: ZONAR SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: CHARLES MICHAEL MCQUADE, MICHAEL CHARLES KING

Publication number: 20200010313Abstract: An automated liquid inventory monitoring and inventory reconciliation system. The system uses a liquid densitometer to precisely measure the density of liquid being dispensed. This allows the system to account for the significant temperature-induced volume variations existing in common liquids such as gasoline. In the preferred embodiments, a fuel inventory processor tracks the quantity of fuel loaded into the tank and the quantity of fuel dispensed to maintain an ongoing computation of the quantity of fuel that should be present in the tank. An accurate tank depth measurement device is also employed. The processor compares the tank depth measurement to the computed quantity of fuel in the tank and uses the values to create an updated tank strapping chart.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2019Publication date: January 9, 2020Applicant: Syn-Tech Systems. Patent number: 10528361Abstract: Aspects described herein may provide methods and systems for loading a second application from a first application while maintaining a consistent user experience. A technique may comprise receiving, by a client application, a first application from web servers. Upon receipt of a request for a second application, the first application may display a first loading display. The client application and/or the first application may then retrieve the second application and, in the process of retrieving the second application, cause the second application to display a similar loading display. When the client application switches from the first application to the second application, the client may display the second loading display. The similarity of the two loading displays may minimize the interruption perceived by the user. The loading displays may comprise indications of loading status, advertisements, interactive elements, or other content for display to the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2017Date of Patent: January 7, 2020Assignee: Citrix Systems, Inc.Inventor: Javier Alejandro Figueroa
