Patent number: 10574592Abstract: The present disclosure relates to Compute-Communicate Continuum (“CCC”) technology, which challenges today's use model of Computing and Communications as independent but interfacing entities. CCC technology conflates computing and communications to create a new breed of device. Compute-Communicate Continuum metal algorithms allow a software programmer to compile/link/load and run his software application directly on device hardware providing Super Computing and Extreme Low Latency links for demanding financial applications and other applications. CCC based multiple CCC-DEVICE hardware platforms can be interconnected using its ELL “Metal Shared Memory Interconnects” form what looks like a “single” machine that crosses different geographies, asset classes, and trading venues.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2018Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Assignees: The Trustees of the Stevens Institute of Technology, CCC Technology Holdings, LLCInventors: Solomon Harsha, Khaldoun Khashanah

Publication number: 20200046808Abstract: In permeability lung edema, cardiogenic lung edema or neonatal respiratory distress, there is heterogeneous liquid distribution throughout the lungs. The excess alveolar liquid reduces gas exchange. Mechanical ventilation is used to improve gas exchange. In the presence of heterogeneous liquid distribution, there are surface tension-dependent stress concentrations in septa separating aerated from flooded alveoli. Mechanical ventilation, by inflating the lung above normal volumes, thus increasing surface tension above normal, exacerbates the stress concentrations and consequently injures, or exacerbates pre-existing injury of, the alveolar-capillary barrier. Any means of lowering surface tension should lessen ventilation injury of the lung. In the present invention, dilute exogenous surfactant solution or surfactant protein C solution interacts with albumin to lower surface tension, likely through effective promotion of surfactant lipid adsorption.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2019Publication date: February 13, 2020Applicant: The Trustees of the Stevens Institute of TechnologyInventor: Carrie E. Patent number: 10535974Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for remote sensing, surface profiling, object identification, and aiming based on two-photon population inversion and subsequent photon backscattering enhanced by superradiance using two co-propagating pump waves. The present disclosure enables efficient and highly-directional photon backscattering by generating the pump waves in properly pulsed time-frequency modes, proper spatial modes, with proper group-velocity difference in air. The pump waves are relatively delayed in a tunable pulse delay device and launched to free space along a desirable direction using a laser-pointing device. When the pump waves overlap in air, signal photons will be created through two-photon driven superrdiant backscattering if target gas molecules are present. The backscattered signal photons propagate back, picked using optical filters, and detected.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2017Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: The Trustees of the Stevens Institute of TechnologyInventor: Yuping Huang

Publication number: 20190328393Abstract: A nerve guidance conduit includes one or more guidance channels formed as porous polymeric structures. The guidance channels are within an outer tubular structure that includes randomly-oriented nanofibers. The guidance channels may have electrospun nanofibers on their inner and outer surfaces in a parallel alignment with the guidance channels. Such aligned nanofibers may also be present on the inner surface of the outer tubular structure. Apparatus, methods, system and framework for discovering, copying and curating investment portfolios
Patent number: 10417710Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system, apparatus and method through which novice or new investors can begin to invest by using the knowledge shared by seasoned investors, who are incentivized to do so by commissions based on their success. The system follows users through each point in a social investment process, and directs users in novel ways to execute a purchase faster. A user discovers other user portfolios through recommendations made using multi-stage collaborative portfolio filtering. From there, processes are defined for following and “mimicking” a portfolio to display the contents thereof, create personal copies of the portfolio or its strategies, and subscribe to periodic or timely updates on the portfolio. Through this system and processes, investment portfolios are curated, and metrics are created to rank user success and further refine recommendations.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2017Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: THE TRUSTEES OF THE STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGYInventors: Dylan Praul, Mukundan Iyengar, Marc Fields, Jimmy Dominkewicz -

Publication number: 20190256998Abstract: The exemplary embodiments describe techniques for a controlled chemical vapor deposition growth and transfer of arrayed TMD monolayers on predetermined locations, which enable the formation of single crystalline TMD monolayer arrays on specific locations. The unique growth process includes the patterning of transition metal oxide (e.g., MoO3) on the source substrate contacting the growth substrate face-to-face, where the growth of single crystalline TMD monolayers with controlled size and location, exclusively on predetermined locations on the growth substrates is accomplished. These TMD arrays can be align-transferred using a unique process that combines the wet and stamping transfer processes onto any target substrate with a pin-point accuracy, which dramatically enhances the integrity of transferred TMDs.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2019Publication date: August 22, 2019Applicant: THE TRUSTEES OF THE STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGYInventors: Eui-Hyeok Yang, Xiaotian Wang, Kyungnam Kang, Siwei Chen

Publication number: 20190242026Abstract: A process includes means for depositing an anti-corrosion coating filled with liquid oil on an aluminum substrate. Aluminum is anodized and then treated with a thin hydrophobic sub-coating. The pores created through anodization are then impregnated with liquid oil. Oil penetration is maximized and residual air is minimized by first filling the pores with a filling solution, replacing the filling solution with an exchange fluid, and then replacing the exchange fluid with perfluorinated oil. The oil gives the surface coating anti-wetting properties and self-healing properties, thereby protecting the aluminum substrate underneath from corrosion.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2019Publication date: August 8, 2019Applicant: THE TRUSTEES OF THE STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGYInventors: Chang-Hwan Choi, Junghoon Lee
