  • Patent number: 9941578
Abstract: An antenna comprising: a hollow conductive chamber having an upper end and a lower end, wherein the lower end is open; a shorting strap electrically connected to the upper end; a conductive center member running through the chamber and electrically connected to the shorting strap; a conductive ground plane having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the top surface is separated from the lower end of the chamber by a gap; and a first solid insulator connected to the chamber and the top surface of the ground plane such that the first insulator fills the gap and fills the lower end and an interior portion of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 9293805
Abstract: A system may include a base portion, first and second support members coupled to the base portion, a first plurality of tapered slot antenna (TSA) pairs coupled to the first support member, and a second plurality of TSA pairs coupled to the second support member. The first plurality TSA pairs are oriented at a non-zero angle about a first axis of the first support member and are oriented at a non-zero angle about a second axis of the first support member, with the second axis being perpendicular to the first axis. The second plurality TSA pairs are oriented at a non-zero angle about a first axis of the second support member and are oriented at a non-zero angle about a second axis of the second support member, with the second axis being perpendicular to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 4970704
Abstract: Disclosed is an acoustical energy generator having a venturi front section o which is attached a pair of rear tail pipes. A pair of return flow manifolds are respectively connected between said rear tail pipes and said front venturi section at such locations that the static pressure in the former are greater than the static pressure in either of the latter when a fluid is flowing therethrough. Controllable valves are optionally disposed in said return flow manifolds to regulate the fluid flow therethrough, and a freely rotatable flutter valve may be disposed at the common junction of said venturi section and tail pipes to facilitate the rapid transfer and/or cutoff of flow from the former to both of the latter in an alternating manner, and thereby effect a more positive generation of cavitation at a desired frequency of operation. A bridle is connected to the front end of the venturi section and a tractor vehicle is attached thereto by means of a tow cable.
