    Abstract: A spine fin heat exchanger tube is provided with a multiplicity of cantilever spine fins extending from an imperforate base wrapped around a tube in a helical manner. The spine fins include an inner portion extending substantially radially from the base and free end portions which extend laterally to provide increased heat exchange surface within a given envelope size. Also disclosed are a method and apparatus for producing such spine fin heat exchanger tubes.
