  • Patent number: 5120148
Abstract: Applicator assembly comprising a container for liquids having a bottom wall member, a cap member having means for detachably securing it over a discharge opening in the container. An upstanding wall and a bottom wall having an upstanding post member having an opening communicating with the interior of the container define a measuring chamber for a predetermined measured quantity of the liquid with a cylindrical wall portion of the cap member. An elongated tubular member is mounted in the opening in the post member extending downwardly into the container adjacent the lowest portion of the bottom wall member. A valve seat plate member is mounted at the open end of the cylindrical wall portion and has a wall portion terminating in a valve opening which is tapered towards the valve opening and functions as a funnel during discharge of contents to ensure complete transfer from the measuring chamber to a dispensing chamber above the measuring chamber.

  • Patent number: 5100011
Abstract: A combination of a cap and tube in which a tube has an opening terminating in a tapered nozzle with an open end. The nozzle has a first diameter proximate said tube and is designed for rotational engagement with a cap. The nozzle includes a ring with a diameter which is the largest diameter of the nozzle and is located at least a band width distance from the junction of the nozzle to the tube. The cap is sized to engage the nozzle at its open end and has a closed outer terminal end. The outer end of the cap includes an axially centered locating cup for engagement with the outer open end of the nozzle. This forms a first seal in a first position and a second seal in a second position which is closer to the outer cap end by the band width distance. The cap is designed for rotational engagement with the nozzle. At its nozzle engaging end, the cap terminates with a circumferential band having an axial width defining the above mentioned band width distance.

  • Patent number: 5093423
Abstract: A method of making a thermoplastic elastomer composition produced by dynamic vulcanization of SBR as a dispersed phase of cross linked SBR, and a co-continuous matrix of SEBS and polypropylene. The dynamic vulcanization step takes place under conditions of shear and temperature to reach the decomposition point of crosslinked SBR, at which time the crosslinking reaction is quenched. Compositions of superior properties are achieved using this method.

  • Patent number: 4978714
Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer composition is possible which has low coefficient friction, reduced stickiness and good structural integrity. A halobutyl rubber is cured by dynamic vulcanization in the presence of sufficient thermoplastic material to function as a continuous phase for the vulcanization. Thereafter, up to 25 parts based on 100 parts of the rubber of an uncured organopolysiloxane grafted EPDM polymer are admixed to form the final moldable product, resulting in a mixture which has good structural integrity and a smooth finished surface.
