Patent number: 11925732Abstract: A device for variable volatilization of a compound includes first and second heating elements that cooperate to form a heating chamber and each having a movement enabling structure; the movement enabling structures being configured to allow movement of the first and second heating elements relative to one another; an adjustment mechanism cooperating with the movement enabling structures to produce selective relative movement of the first and second heating elements; and wherein movement of the adjustment mechanism in a first direction results in relative movement of the heating elements away from one another and movement in a second direction produces relative movement of the heating elements toward one another resulting in adjustment of the amount of heat within the heating chamber. Methods of adjusting the amount of heat within a heating chamber are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2019Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 10287069Abstract: A vaporizing/discharging container 100 is provided that can properly vaporize and discharge a volatile substance in use, and prevent tampering by children, etc. The vaporizing/discharging container 100 for vaporizing and discharging a volatile substance into the outside, includes a main body 10 configured to contain the volatile substance, and a closure member 20 having a vapor discharging hole 21 for the volatile substance, and configured to be screwed and attached onto the main body 10. A pair of temporary lock mechanisms 30 (31, 32) configured to engage with each other so that resistance occurs against a direction in which the closure member 20 is rotated backward after the closure member 20 is screwed onto the main body 10, are provided between the closure member 20 and the main body 10, and at least one of the temporary lock mechanisms 30 (31, 32) is formed in the shape of steps.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2014Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignees: ZHONGSHAN FUJI CHEMICAL CO., LTD., DAINIHON JOCHUGIKU CO., LTD., THE YANKEE CANDLE COMPANY, INC.Inventors: Chi Wai Chan, Koji Nakayama, Frederick A. Patent number: 9821082Abstract: A scent dispersal device and a network for operating one or more scent dispersal devices are provided. The device can include electronics for operating a heater within the device to cause a scent cartridge within the device to disperse a scent into the surrounding environment. The device can include a top configured to turn the device on/off and control the type, strength and duration of a specific scent from a scent cartridge. The device can be equipped with sensors to identify the type of scent selected and the level of scent substance remaining in a scent cartridge. The device can be configured to interact with other scent devices via a local Wi-Fi network, where the tactile control of one device causes other devices to act in the same manner. The device or devices can further be controlled by and send information to a mobile device via a network.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: November 21, 2017Assignee: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.Inventors: Melanie Swartz, Ross Millenacker, Michael Li, Fan Sai Kuok, Vishal Pallikandi

Patent number: 9517871Abstract: A child-resistant container including a bottle having a first locking member associated therewith, a bottle cap for selectively engaging the bottle, the bottle cap including a second locking member for selectively engaging the first locking member, and a removable gasket positioned and located within the bottle cap for allowing the bottle cap to partially engage the bottle but preventing the first locking member from engaging the second locking member so long as the gasket is positioned within the bottle cap. Removal of the gasket from the bottle cap allows the bottle cap to be fully engaged with the bottle and allows the first locking member to engage the second locking member thereby activating the child-resistant locking mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2014Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.Inventors: Frederick A. Patent number: 9475624Abstract: A child-resistant container including a bottle having an annular flange associated therewith, an intermediate member selectively engageable with the bottle and having an annular flange associated therewith, and an outer lid selectively engageable with both the intermediate member and the bottle, the outer lid including a plurality of lower projections for selectively engaging the annular flange of the intermediate member when the outer lid is engaged therewith and for selectively engaging the annular flange of the bottle when the intermediate member is removed from the bottle and the outer lid is engaged with the bottle. Removal of the intermediate member from the bottle allows the plurality of lower projections associated with the outer lid to engage the annular flange associated with the bottle thereby activating the child-resistant locking mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2014Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignees: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc., Consultoria Técnica e Representações, Lda.Inventors: Cheriyan B. Patent number: 9441186Abstract: The candle uses wax beads produced using existing equipment. The wax beads are transported to a bead hopper and the bead hopper deposits a volume of wax beads into jars prepared with a wick. Concurrently the jars are vibrated using a continuous vibratory motor to settle the wax beads for increased wax bead density. The filled jars are then transported to an in-container wax bead compression system where an automated plunging device compresses the wax beads. Jars are then transported by in-line conveyor to a wide conveyor. The jars are then filled at a liquid wax depositing station where the wax has been heated to its melting point and deposited into the jar to fill the void left by the in-container wax bead Compression system. The filled candle is then cooled to solidification. The finished candle is then ready for packing, distribution, sale, and use.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2011Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.Inventors: John E. Patent number: 9034059Abstract: A wax composition comprising various waxes and an organically modified polysiloxane (OMP). These materials are mixed and melted into a homogenous liquid state creating a molten blend. It is preferred that the slip agent be added to the blend at least 0.25 percent by weight, and more preferably at 0.50 percent by weight. By mixing OMP with known candle and wax potpourri waxes, the wax becomes much easier to remove from the wax container.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Assignee: The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.Inventor: John E.
