Patents Assigned to Theodor Hymmen KG
  • Patent number: 4555988
Abstract: In a device for applying surface pressure to advancing workpieces like boards of wooden material etc. with at least one continuous compression belt against the inside of which a compression plate acts, several pressure chambers are distributed along the width and/or the length of the effective pressure surface of the belt. Each pressure chamber consists on the one hand of a sealing strip and on the other hand of the facing surfaces of the compression plate and of the compression belt. The sealing strips are resiliently secured against and can be released from the compression plate by a strip-like diaphragm that demarcates a pressure space.

  • Patent number: 4537408
Abstract: In a device for applying surface pressure to advancing workpieces like sheets of wood-based material and similar products with at least one revolving compression belt that a pressure plate acts on the inside of, several pressure chambers are distributed along the belt. Each chamber is constituted out of a holder that has a sealing strip. The holder and sealing strip are secured in such a way that they can be adjusted in a groove in the pressure plate by means of lateral guides constituted out of screws, adapters, or similar structures that are secured in such a way that they can be adjusted to the holder in the plane of the belt in such a way that deleterious horizontal displacement forces exerted by the belt on the sealing strip can be diverted into the pressure plate.

  • Patent number: 4336096
Abstract: In an apparatus for joining a plurality of band-shaped layers of material in passage wherein rotating steel belts (18) for pressing together the laminates are heated, the apparatus being designed as a dual belt press (10), a heat damming protective shield is disposed at the intake side both above and below the cover layers (13, 15), said protective shields being designed as cooling pockets (20) and being adjustably fastened to the dual belt press (10). The cooling pockets (20) may be designed in such a manner that a coolant can flow therethrough and the cover layers (13, 15) are shielded from the radiation heat of the steel belts (18) until very near the pressing region of the guide rollers (17).

  • Patent number: 4331073
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a surface pressure to progressively moving workpieces such as chipboard panels or the like comprising at least one rotating pressure application belt having a workpiece-carrying surface and an opposed surface, and apparatus for applying pressure to the belt to cause the belt to apply pressure to the workpiece, such pressure applying apparatus being in the form of a pressure plate parallel to and spaced from the belt, the plate having a groove adjacent its peripheral surface, the groove receiving a sealing member secured to a frame, and a seal between the frame and the groove, the sealing member slidably engaging the belt to form a closed chamber, an opening in the plate to admit a pressurization fluid medium so that pressure within the chamber applies force on the belt to in turn apply force on the moving workpiece.
