  • Patent number: 4931249
Abstract: An apparatus and process are provided for mixing and dispensing high viscosity, multiple component reactive liquids into a mold. The apparatus and process are particularly suitable for mixing and dispensing highly viscous intumescent fireproofing materials. Each reactive liquid component is stored in a separate pressure tank. The liquid components flow through separate conduits leading from each pressure tank, and are metered by a gear pump located in each component conduit. A gear linkage synchronously links the gear pumps together, and a self-locking motor is adapted to drive the linked gear pumps. When the motor is turned off, the gear pumps act as a valve to stop flow of the component liquids. The metered components flow into a common conduit, which has therein a static mixer for thoroughly mixing the components. The mixed components are then dispensed through an orifice.

  • Patent number: 4666677
Abstract: An apparatus for converting harmful hydrocarbon emissions into harmless gases includes, in sequence, a transition chamber, transition duct work, a burner chamber, a catalyst chamber, and a cap. The hydrocarbons are burned and then treated with a catalyst to substantially reduce or completely eliminate the visible hydrocarbon emissions, the odor and the total amount of hydrocarbon emission by more than ninety (90%) percent.

  • Patent number: 4573298
Abstract: A system for insulating a building roof structure having a plurality of secondary structural members extended longitudinally between a pair of oppositely situated primary structural members includes a plurality of spaced-apart parallel support bands extended transversely across the undersides of the secondary structural members, a suspension sheet supported on said bands and extending longitudinally between a pair of primary structural members and transversely across a plurality of the secondary structural members, thermal insulation material supported on the suspension sheet and band fastener means for connecting the bands to the secondary structural members, the suspension sheet being continuous but for the passage of the band fastener means therethrough. The invention is also directed to a plurality of band hangers with coacting fastener means to facilitate connection of the bands to the secondary structural members.

  • Patent number: 4413683
Abstract: Valve actuators are protected by fireproof enclosures capable of withstanding temperatures up to 2300.degree. F. The fireproof enclosures are made up of two or more units, one of which is a center unit rigidly mounted upon the valve actuator itself. The other units are attached to the center unit by means of stepped flanges forming airtight seals therewith. Each unit has a substantially box-shaped frame with expanded metal sides, which frame, exclusive of stepped flanges, is substantially completely encased in a homogeneous body of refractory material, preferably formed by vacuum molding form a slurry of refractory material into a mold surrounding the exterior of the frame and curing the refractory material deposited thereby. The preferred refractory material is a mixture of alumina ceramic fibers and a colloidal silica binder.
