Patent number: 11535140Abstract: A floor mat for placement on a vehicle floor, where the floor mat includes a body having a bottom wall, an upper surface, and a bottom surface, and a front wall extending from the bottom wall. The upper surface and the bottom surface extending along the bottom wall and the front wall. A first portion of the bottom surface of the bottom wall having a support structure provided with a variable height such that the shape of the support structure complements the irregularities in the vehicle floor, where the support structure extends from the bottom surface of the bottom wall, and a second portion of the bottom surface of the bottom wall has a flat surface, where upon the vehicle floor mat being placed on the vehicle floor, the support structure engages the irregularities in the vehicle floor so that the upper surface of the bottom wall is generally level.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2020Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: THERMOFLEX CORPORATIONInventors: David A. Reband, Robert Price

Patent number: 10807509Abstract: A vehicle floor mat is provided for placement on a vehicle floor having surface irregularities, and includes a floor mat body having an upper surface, a peripheral edge, and a bottom surface. The bottom surface has an integral depending support structure provided with a variable height such that the shape of the support structure complements the irregularities in the vehicle floor. Upon the vehicle floor mat being placed on the vehicle floor, said support structure engages the irregularities and upper floor mat surface is generally level.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2016Date of Patent: October 20, 2020Assignee: THERMOFLEX CORPORATIONInventors: David A. Reband, Robert Price

Patent number: 8454873Abstract: A method for producing a carpet mat by injection molding, includes providing an injection mold including a cavity and a complementary core, each defining a portion of a mold recess for accommodating the finished carpet mat, providing the cavity with a surface having at least one vacuum opening bordered by a peripheral retaining barrier, applying vacuum to the core, inserting a sheet of carpet into the recess of the cavity and against the surface so that the carpet is in contact with the cavity, so that the carpet is held in the recess by the vacuum. Next, the cavity and core are closed together, thus sealing the recess, and a flowable supply of plastic is injected into the recess. Finally, the mold is opened after a specified period, allowing the plastic to at least partially solidify.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2010Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Assignee: Thermoflex CorporationInventors: Robert A.
