Abstract: A Window frame including two frame members (1, 2) adapted to mutual locking engagement, between which members a window pane (50) can be secured. One frame member (1) includes a tubular portion (5), into which a screw (3) may, be driven through the second frame member (2). The second frame member (2) further includes an engagement means in the form of a cavity (4), in which the tubular portion (5) may be inserted through an opening in the cavity. The tubular portion (5) is slit in such a manner that it expands for engagement with the engagement means.
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a plastic window comprising a frame (2) and at least one pane (4a, 4b) of transparent plastic, in which method the pane (4a, 4b) is joined with the frame (2) at an abutment surface (3a, 3b) provided thereon. The joining is performed by welding with laser light (8), and while the welding is performed, an average abutment pressure of at least approx. 2 MPa is provide between the pane (4a, 4b) and the frame (2).
Abstract: Deflector apparatus for directing a flow of air downwards along the rear window of a car comprises a curved, elongated deflector plate (5) that is positioned substantially parallel to the rear window with the upper edge of the deflector plate being just above the roof-line (2) of the car and being mounted on the car by means of at least one mounting member. In order to avoid having the mounting members interfere with opening of the rear door (1) of the car and to eliminate the need for drilling of holes in the metal parts of the car, the mounting member (6) is fastened to the glass of the rear window itself, preferably by gluing, so that, without touching the painted metal parts of the car, the deflector plate, will extend above the metal parts of the car and above the rear window (4).
Abstract: A double-glazed window for insertion in openings in walls or doors of a sandwich-type construction. The glazing comprises two identical transparent elements with an integral pane portion and an edge portion having sealing ribs. Internal covering means comprising two rib sections that overlap each other to provide an inner seal. The height of the rib sections are less than the thickness of the sandwich material, and the rib sections may also interengage each other.
