Patents Assigned to Thimon
  • Patent number: 10343798
Abstract: A wrapping machine has a transfer and accumulation device including an accumulator element on which a part of the sleeve is wound, and a mechanism for performing spreading of the open end of the sleeve after transfer to the covering station. According to the invention, a programmable control device determines the position and/or the inclination angle of the feed axis of the load by synchronizing the positioning control of the transfer device with position data of the load. This results in positioning of the transfer device according to the spatial position of the load to be packaged.

  • Patent number: 7937910
Abstract: A packaging machine comprises a preparation station for preparing a sleeve from a stretchable plastic film wound flat around a storage reel, and a gripper device for taking hold of the sleeve and transferring it to the depositing station for enveloping the load. According to the invention, the gripper device comprises at least one set of grippers which is equipped with notched bars to create differential stretch with the formulation of a lunula. Each bar is given a translational and/or rotational movement so that the bar can be extracted and the sleeve disengaged at the end of the depositing cycle.

  • Patent number: 6170776
Abstract: A wrapping method comprises the prior stretching of a film. The prior Stretching of the film advantageously includes a step of paying out the film from a feed reel, a stretching step, and a step of winding the stretched film onto a mandrel or a take-up reel in readiness for subsequent use. The film of the present invention is previously stretched under a large amount of tension, is released, and is then wound under moderate tension, under which the film is allowed to relax. The present invention is applicable to preparing film for wrapping loads that are optionally palletized and suitable for being put into place either manually, or mechanically.

  • Patent number: 5967437
Abstract: A machine for winding film, a method of manufacturing spools of pre-stretched film, and spools of pre-stretched film obtained as a result, are disclosed. The method of winding spools of pre-stretched stretchable film includes importing oscillation to the film with a component perpendicular to the axis of the film. For example, during pre-stretched and winding of the film on a take-up spool, a feed spool, i.e. a spool from which the stretchable film for stretching is taken, is caused to oscillate, and/or the take-up core is caused to oscillate. This ensures that successive layers of film are offset, in particular at the margins of the film. Spools of film obtained in this way do not have portions of extra thickness and lower tension at the margins as is the case prior art spools of pre-stretched film.

  • Patent number: 5953888
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pre-stretched film, and to apparatus and a method of applying outer packaging to packages and to loads, optimized as a function of the structure and in particular the shape of the package or the load, in particular a palletized load, and also as a function of the transport and handling that the package or the load must be capable of withstanding without the outer packaging being dislocated. According to the invention, a stretchable film is stretched over at least one roller having a diameter that varies along its axis of rotation so as to form parallel longitudinal zones in the film that have different degrees of stretching. These zones make it possible, in particular, to track the external outlines of objects to be packaged and/or to provide locally-reinforced bonding, or on the contrary to present surfaces that are more relaxed. The present invention applies in particular to packaging and grouping together loads that may optionally be palletized.

  • Patent number: 4473990
Abstract: A machine for packing a load in a section of sheath made of supple material, and particularly of plastic material, comprises mechanisms for supplying flat sections of sheath in the direction of the load and for opening the downstream end of each section of sheath opposite the load, and a pleating device for progressively pleating part of each section of sheath. The pleating device has rotatable pleating members applied against the sheath and against support ramps located inside the sheath. A movable covering frame whose section is larger than the cross section of the load to be packed is provided for bearing the section of pleated sheath. The rotatable pleating members are mounted on a support independent of the covering frame and the pleating device comprises mobile pleating arms.
