Abstract: To create a method for processing print jobs in server-based networks as well as a relevant network, in which the disadvantages of the methods of print processing according to the current technical status can be avoided, it is suggested that a print job which has been generated from an application on the network's server in EMF format be furnished with an identification which lets the print job seem to be in RAW format; that the print job in pretended RAW format be sent to an end device in the network, where the identification is removed and finally the conversion of the EMF file into the print device-specific RAW format is executed with a local printer driver, or that the print job furnished with the identification is forwarded to a print server, where the identification is removed and finally the conversion of the EMF file into the print device-specific RAW format is executed with a local printer driver, and the RAW file is finally sent to the end device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for managing data, and a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium, which can be used, in particular, to save, for example, e-mails in a folder structure on a server by using an e-mail push client, which are known, for example, as Blackberry devices. It is a method for managing data, the data are saved as e-mail or messages on a mail server and/or a server of a message signaling system. At least one application with at least one function for data processing is installed on a terminal. In addition, the terminal sends a request for managing data to the mail server and/or the server of a message signaling service by using the data managing function, and the data are transmitted to a file server according to the request from the mail server and/or the server of a message signaling service, where they are saved in a file system, wherein the stored data can be accessed from a file management program.

Abstract: A method and a system for printing from web applications, as well as a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage means, are described. The method and system are particularly useful for improving the print functionality of web applications; e.g., by enabling printout of additional formats. It is proposed to provide on web pages a print option that can be controlled via data input means of a terminal. Activation of the print option causes a server executing the web application to send the data to be printed to a designated print server to start a print process on the print server, and to send the data generated by the print process from the print server to a network printer or to the terminal.

Abstract: A method and system for handling files with mobile terminals and a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium, which can be used in particular for handling e-mail attachments and the like on mobile terminals (PDAs, Smartphone, mobile phone) are described. According to the described method, an original file is stored on a data processing device different from the mobile terminal, and a file corresponding to the original file is generated and transmitted to the mobile terminal. The corresponding file includes information about the storage location of the original file. The original file is handled on the data processing device. An application installed on the mobile terminal processes at least part of the data in the corresponding file according to user input entered on the mobile terminal. First processing device is thereby prompted to execute handling of the original file according to the user input.

Abstract: A method and a system for printing data with a message-push-service are described. E-mail texts and e-mail attachments can be printed by message-push-enabled terminals, such as BlackBerry devices, via Bluetooth-enabled printers. Data received at a MSS (message signaling service) server are signaled to a terminal which can access the received data at the MSS server via a mobile radio link. The terminal sends a print request to the MSS server and/or to a data processing system that controls printing. A computer program installed on the MSS server/data processing system automatically initiates transmission of the requested data from the MSS server to a print server which generates print data. The print data are transmitted from the print server to the mobile terminal and from the mobile terminal to a selected printer, where the data are printed. A corresponding computer program and a computer-readable storage medium are also disclosed.
