  • Patent number: 9934553
Abstract: Image super-resolution (SR) generally enhance the resolution of images. One of SR's main challenge is discovering mappings between low-resolution (LR) and high-resolution (HR) image patches. The invention learns patch upscaling projection matrices from a training set of images. Input images are divided into overlapping patches, which are normalized and transformed to a defined orientation. Different transformations can be recognized and dealt with by using a simple 2D-projection. The transformed patches are clustered, and cluster specific upscaling projection matrices and corresponding cluster centroids determined during training are applied to obtain upscaled patches. The upscaled patches are assembled to an upscaled image.

  • Patent number: 7920565
Abstract: When updating a data record identified by a version number, the problem exists that a simple not equal to comparison or greater than comparison is often insufficient for ascertaining the up-to-date nature of the newly received data record, particularly if the data record is transmitted to a receiving station via an unsecured data link and the version number originates from a limited range which is repeatedly run through periodically. The invention solves the problem by virtue of the fact that it divides the range of values of the version number into the ranges “old” and “new”, on the basis of the current value of a version number. The periodicity with which the range of values is run through is taken into account in this case, however. That is to say that the range “old” or the range “new” may perfectly well include the jump from the highest value in the range of values to the lowest value in the range of values.

  • Publication number: 20100067564
Abstract: An apparatus for performing a multipath search including a plurality of time-multiplexed chip correlators, wherein each of the plurality of time-multiplexed chip correlators has a pipeline, and further wherein each of the plurality of time-multiplexed chip correlators has a accumulation time is described. A method is described for performing a multipath search including performing multipath search slot processing, determining if a current multipath searching slot is a last multipath searching slot, if the current multipath searching slot is not the last multipath searching slot, then repeating the performing step, if the current multipath searching slot is the last multipath searching slot, then initializing a multipath searching slot index, determining if an non-coherent accumulation has been completed if the accumulation has not been completed then repeating all steps and if the accumulation has been completed, then search results are sorted to locate energy peaks corresponding to multipath locations.

  • Publication number: 20090144784
Abstract: A system and method for broadcasting content includes a content provider which interfaces with one or more clients through a network. The content provider includes a scheduler responsive to requests for content from clients. The scheduler provides the content in blocks by making the blocks available to requesters by a plurality of streams wherein a subsequent requester accesses blocks from previous requester's streams complemented by a subset of blocks as a stream for this requester to complete an entire set of blocks for the subsequent requester. By manipulating the scheduler as a function of user requests, this system and method is able to provide a video on demand service at a fractional bandwidth usage of a conventional VOD system.

  • Publication number: 20090049302
Abstract: A method and system for processing content are described including generating a dummy value, inserting the dummy value into encoded content, selecting a position in the encoded content where the dummy value in the encoded content is to be replaced by a real value, generating the real value and replacing the dummy value with the real value in the encoded content.
